Study: Allowing Christ To Do The Work

Hello My Friend,

As I am reading the Psalms for today, I kept thinking how foolish these religions and the world are to God and who they perceive Him to be, and especially when it comes to Jesus. It’s like the Bible says, [Romans 10:3-4  For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.]

As we return to the reading of Psalms, we discover some amazing passages regarding salvation and those who accept or reject God, who is the LORD. It all begins with who actually does get saved.

[Psalms 15:1-5  A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?  2  He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.  3  He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.  4  In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.  5  He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.]

[He that doeth these things shall never be moved.] What are the things that show that our righteousness comes through Christ? 1. We walk uprightly. 2. We walk righteously. 3. We speak the truth from our heart. 4. We do slander people or tell lies about them. 5. We do not commit evil against our neighbors or cause trouble with them. 6. We do not earn or give money away that was not made honestly. And above all, 7. We fear God, which means that we received Christ as our Saviour, for He truly is our righteousness, [Romans 3:26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.]

Wrapped up, way down deep in our body is something in the center of our being, and that is our soul, our soul feels, it hurts, it cries, and gasps for breath when it is suffocating in our sins. It also laughs, rejoices, and is lively when it is alive. We absolutely cannot survive this life or the next without a living soul, and thanks to Jesus He gives life to our soul, first when we receive Him as our Saviour, and then as He continues to work in our lives. The only way that our soul can be receive life is to accept the Gospel of Christ, meaning His sinless death, burial, and resurrection. And if you think that there is no way that the people knew that Christ was coming before He came here, think again. Psalm 22 is no ordinary prayer, it is and incredible cry out to God.

[Psalms 22:1-8  To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?  2  O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.  3  But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.  4  Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.  5  They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.  6  But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.  7  All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,  8  He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.]

[why hast thou forsaken me?] These are the incredible prophetic words of Jesus as He would be hanging on the cross. I read this every year and notice this, but for some reason it just had me in tears this morning. The vision of Jesus hanging on the cross as the people mock Him, all the while He is up there to save their souls. And on top of that, His own Father could not bear to look at Him because He was covered in the sins of those who mocked Him as well as our very own sins, [2 Corinthians 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.]

As Christians, we all will face a time in our lives when we call out to our Father and ask Him why has He forsaken us. And let me tell you, while a faithful and true born again Christian will face many trials for their faith, we are not forsaken, and we are not forgotten because it is Christ who is our Shepherd.

[Psalms 23:1-6  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.]

[thou anointest my head with oil; ] You are anointed by the blood of Christ, surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life! Amen! Will every day be joyful? No. However, Jesus will help you find joy through all the pain. Let me tell you, when we embrace the power of Christ who is living in us, we do amazing things, and then you get even more blessed for acknowledging Him. How do we embrace that power? Prayer and reading His Word. Remember, this is His Living Word, and if you are saved, His Spirit is in you, and His words will come to life, [Romans 8:26-27  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.]

While it is not a requirement to live in a way that is pleasing to God for our salvation, it is what keeps us from moving away from Him. As long as we abide with Christ, meaning stick close to Him like glue, we will not be tempted to turn to sin in the first place. Salvation is in no way about our works, but our works after we are saved will bless us tremendously while we are here.

[Psalms 24:1-5,8-10  A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.  2  For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.  3  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?  4  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5  He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 8  Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.  9  Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.  10  Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.]

[He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;] An amazing transformation happens as we allow Christ to work in our lives, people and things that were once essential to us disappear and are replaced by people or things that please God. Jesus will return, and when He does, all of Israel who are still alive will finally accept that He is the Messiah. Jesus will not return until the very last soul to believe in Him gets saved before the tribulation starts, even He does not know the hour when He will return as the Father has blocked that from His knowing it. When He does return, we will know it, because we will hear the trumpet sound

[Psalms 47:1-5,8-9  To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.  2  For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.  3  He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.  4  He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.  5  God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. 8  God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.  9  The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.]

[the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.] There is a great passage and reminder that I keep close with me, especially in this day and age, [1 Thessalonians 4:16-17  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.] Praise God! And do not be offended or surprised to see dear friends of even loved ones turn on you, many will flee as you get closer to Jesus, but keep on praising Him and do not worry about them because He will help you get through the mocking and persecution you are going to face. God abundantly blesses those who trust in His salvation, but keep in mind, anyone who has been abusing God’s good mercies and graces with no intention of changing will suffer for it in this life unless they repent or He has to take them home sooner for suffering in it.

[Psalms 68:1-6  To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.  2  As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.  3  But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.  4  Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.  5  A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.  6  God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.]

[God setteth the solitary in families:] This is why you will see many earthly families divided, we are not all believers of Christ just because we come from the same family. I was thinking about those who reject God with the assumption that if God created the devil, then He must be evil as well. They are all foolish and blind to the fact that God created man and angels, who were created to be His messengers, with a freewill. God may have created everything, but He everyone a choice in what to believe. Adam and Eve did not need Satan to tell them to sin, he was just the influence. God nor the Satan can make us do anything, everything we do and believe comes from what is deep within our heart, [Luke 12:51-53  Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:  52  For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.  53  The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.]

God abundantly blesses those who trust in His salvation, but keep in mind, anyone who has been abusing God’s good mercies and graces with no intention of changing will suffer for it in this life unless they repent or He has to take them home sooner for suffering in it.

[Psalms 68:18-21,33-35  Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.  19  Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.  20  He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.  21  But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses. 33  To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.  34  Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.  35  O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.]

[giveth strength and power unto his people.] Jesus loves us way too much to see us living our lives as though He never found us. Think about it, He suffered a great deal of persecution Himself, not to mention the suffering He went through before hanging on the cross so that our soul does not end up in hell. Of course, we are going to mess up, sometimes several times a day, and we going to suffer some pain if we know Him and are careless about the way we are living our lives. He is our strength and power to live life abundantly.

[Isaiah 40:28-31  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.  29  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  30  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.]

Today’s Prayer: God, You know that life gets weary sometimes, so weary that it vexes our soul. I can feel it suffocating when it is overburdened with affliction and I find myself crying out to You and asking You why You have forsaken me. I try to live my life pleasing You and everyone else around me too. You are the only one who can restore my soul, revive Your Spirit that lives inside of me, to feel passion and compassion in all that I do, and to get me through every affliction. You are my power and my strength. Lord, lead me and guide me, give me Your mercy, grace, and Holy Spirit power to endure my affliction with patience. For I know that with You all things are possible, all things have a purpose, and all will come together for good because I love You. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
