Message: All Souls Are Mine

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading the chapters for today, this passage came right to mind, [Romans 9:20-23  Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?  21  Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?  22  What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:  23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,]

It is human nature, whether we know Christ or not, to wonder how God, as merciful as He is, can send a soul that has led a moral and decent life to hell when one that has led an immoral life is sent to heaven, but to understand this we have to see it in the eyes of God. Yes, there are many people who live in the world who are honestly good people, they are quick to help those in need, live a moral life, and even believe in God. However, they are missing one thing that has always been needed in order to be saved, Jesus Christ, [Psalms 3:8  Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.]

You see, it is sin, any sin, no matter how small or big, that keeps a soul out of heaven. Even before Christ came in the flesh and died on the cross, people needed a Saviour, and He is the same Saviour, they just knew Him as the LORD. The truth is, we have all done something wrong at one point in our lives, it is pride that keeps us from admitting that. Whether we feel we deserve it or not, God says we will die in our sin, and not just the death of the body, but the death of the soul, which means an eternity in hell. Through Ezekiel, God explains that all souls belong to Him and every soul that sins will die, regardless of who they were born to.

[Ezekiel 18:4-5,9-10,13-14,17,20  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.  5  But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,  9  Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.  10  If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, 13  Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. 14  Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, 17  That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. 20  The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.]

[Behold, all souls are mine;] There are people who are saved that disregard the entire Old Testament, they do not believe that it applies to them because it was written for Israel. While there are some things that God aims directly at Israel, this does not, this applies to all souls, that means every person born belongs to God and He will do what He will with that soul according to their faith. A soul that is trusting some religion or man made god to save them will not be saved, and I do not care of the person believed them out of ignorance, unless they believe in the Gospel of Christ alone, and accept Him as their Saviour, they will die in their sin, [Acts 17:30-31  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.]

[but now commandeth all men every where to repent:] Repent; admit you have sinned, believe in Christ, confess to Him that you believe He is your Saviour. Turn your thinking away from your own righteousness saving you, and turn it to Christ, who is the only one who can save you. Now, the word repent actually means to feel remorse for your sin and turn away from it, but it also applies to our way of thinking that we are good enough on our own to be saved. Through Ezekiel, God explains why our own sin brings us to death, others cannot save us, and why the wicked have the same opportunity to be saved.

[Ezekiel 18:21-25,30  But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.  22  All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.  23  Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?  24  But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.  25  Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 30  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.]

[in them shall he die.] You see, for the unsaved, none of their good is seen, only the evil. God does not want one soul in hell, but even one little white lie will erase all the good we have done, and only the sin will be remembered. This is why we need a Saviour, we simply cannot be good enough to save ourselves, [Romans 3:10-12,23-24  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  11  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  12  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:]

Since God is always in control and people choose to live they way they want regardless, He will let them suffer in their sin until they repent, but He knows whether or not a person will repent. Now, as the Jews in Babylon hear Ezekiel speak these words many of them became uneasy and asked Ezekiel what would become of them.

[Ezekiel 20:3-5,7-9  Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.  4  Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:  5  And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;  7  Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.  8  But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.  9  But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.]

[I will not be enquired of by you.] If people want to believe a false religion over God, then He will have nothing to do with them when they come crying to Him at judgment. He gives all a choice while they still have their breath in them to choose Christ, those who reject Him only have themselves to blame for doing so. [But I wrought for my name’s sake,] God could destroy all the false religions, the false Christians, and the rebellious Jews right now, but the reason He does not is because He will not have His name defiled in front of the world. How would God look if He wiped out all the saved who are living in sin and the ones He calls His chosen who refuse to acknowledge Christ? A heartless, tyrant. God shows the world His mercy through the mercies that He has on His people, and that is what mercy is for, [Titus 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your gift of salvation, I know that there is nothing more I can do apart from receiving Your Son that will save me from my sin, His finished work on the cross is all that is necessary for me to be able to be righteous before You. But Lord, I want the rest of my time on earth to be one of glory, one that not only pleases You, but brings others to You as well. Lead me and guide me, give me Your power to discern right from wrong in Your eyes, the knowledge to understand and wisdom to know how to handle the situations, obstacles, and difficulties I face. Pour out Your mercy and grace upon me so that I may grow and be a faithful and honorable witness of Your Son in me. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
