Study: Only One Door to God

Hello My Friend,

Since God created man, there has always been those who decide that they do not want to follow God’s direction when it comes to salvation and worshiping Him, and learn the very hard way that there is only one way. Jesus, flat out tells us, [John 10:9-12  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  12  But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.]

As we return to the reading of 1 Chronicles, David, gathers the congregation together for a proposal. The Ark of the Covenant, this is the wooden chest that contained the two stone tablets with the first ten commandments was at Gibeah, ans would be the closest thing to Jesus during that time. Under Saul’s leadership, the nation was not following the Law as it was written, David knowing this, gathers all the elders of Israel together, and requested that the Ark be brought to Jerusalem.

[1 Chronicles 13:1-4  And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.  2  And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:  3  And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.  4  And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.]

[for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.] The Ark of the Covenant, was more than a chest that containing the two tablets written with the first ten commandments, a bowl of manna, the rod of Aaron’s that budded, and a copy of the Law, it was symbol of Christ Himself since He is the Word of God made flesh, [John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.].For the very first time, the entire nation got together in one accord to bring the Ark up to Jerusalem.

[1 Chronicles 13:7-12  And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.  8  And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.  9  And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.  10  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.  11  And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.  12  And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?]

[all Israel played before God with all their might,] If there is any proof to the fact that you cannot worship God under your own terms, even out of ignorance, it is right here. It does not matter how much we sing out to God, and worship Him, we must remember that there is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ. The fact that David did not know that a Levite was the only one who could touch the Ark and live tells you why it is important that we read and study the Bible, and not some man made version that they happen to call a holy book. And if anyone tries to get to God any other way, then it is an instant death sentence for, and hell also, [Matthew 7:22-23  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.]

It may seem cruel that God would send someone who truly worshiped Him to hell, but we must remember that God is a just God and if we are to worship Him we must be clean and sanctified of our sins, and the only way we can do that is through Christ. Now, David has some time to think about what happened, for three months the Ark stayed with Obededom, during that time the Philistines decided to attack Israel when they found out that David had become king. David seeks help from God on this twice.

[1 Chronicles 14:10,12-15,17  And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.  12  And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.  13  And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.  14  Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.  15  And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.17  And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.]

[and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations] You see, worshiping God is not that hard, we just need to know how to do it the correct way. As much as David loved God and showed affection to Him, he learned first hand how important it was to ask God what to do in every matter, especially when it pertained to God Himself. Now, three months later, David knew what he had to do in order to get the Ark moved, and took the steps needed.

[1 Chronicles 15:2,11-14,26  Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever. 11  And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,  12  And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.  13  For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order. 14  So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel. 26  And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.]

[according to the word of the LORD.] You know, we can tell God how much we love Him, read the Bible, confess our sins, and do everything in the name of God, but unless we know Christ as our Saviour He does not acknowledge us. Do you know how many people are in hell right now because they did not know the Gospel, and trusted their false religion? If they could, they would be screaming to their loved ones to get saved. God loves us, and does not want to see anyone in hell, but He is a just God, and bends His rules for no one, [Acts 17:30-31  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.]

After the ark was brought up, David restores worship in the tabernacle as well as the offerings, and writes this Psalm as a reminder that while God is a just God He is merciful and we need to thank and praise Him for all He is because we are all sinners.

[1 Chronicles 16:1-3,7-10  So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.  2  And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.  3  And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. 7  Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren. 8  Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.  9  Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.  10  Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.]

[to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph] This song was to be sung by them now, and on every proper occasion, which is pretty much daily. Worshiping God takes a daily commitment as the devil does everything he can to get saved, born again believers to slip and slide away from this. Why? While our soul belongs to Jesus, the devil can draw us away from God and teaching the truth to those who need to hear it. There is a sad truth that the majority of religion is solely run by Satan himself, they are just oblivious to that. And while God does give all an opportunity to know the truth, the simple fact is that they do not want to hear that truth, and this is why they end up in hell, [Revelation 21:6-8  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.]

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your amazing mercy and grace to give us a way to be able to worship You without consequence. In order to worship You we must be sanctified and thanks to Your Son all we need to do to be sanctified is believe in Him and receive Him as our Saviour. Thank You Jesus, for such a sacrifice, I know that You are my only hope of salvation. Lord, Lead me and guide me, help me to learn to ask You for everything and to listen for Your voice telling me what I need to do at all times. Let me be a witness and a testimony and tell all You put on my heart to tell them they need You too. Keep me in Your Word, not only to read it, but to study it, and follow it so that Your blessings are continuous, and I do not cause a breach in our relationship. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
