Message: The Bible is No Version

Hello My Friend,

The Word of God, the Holy Bible, the Law, whatever you want to call it, there is only one book that comes to life as you read it, given by the one any only living God, and that is what we come to know as the King James Bible. Speaking of King James, did you ever wonder why there are so many “versions” of the Bible? Get this straight, there is only one Holy Bible, and it is was given to us under the direction of God Himself, and that today that is the King James Bible. The King James Bible, is not a version, a version is a paraphrase, meaning someone’s opinion of what they have read honestly read from the King James. Now, many scholars will tell you about these different translations which I can go into detail, and have on the website, but there is only translation that is true, and that what is found in the King James. The reason King James is so important has to do with the fact that everytime another “version” has to cut out or change twenty percent of what is written from the King James in order to not infringe on copyright laws. We are never to add nor take away anything written in the Scriptures, that is unless you want to face Jesus and give an answer as to why you did it and or believed them.

[Revelation 22:16-20  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.]

You can say that you read a “version” because King James is harder to understand, but I say, the Holy Spirit is the one who gives you understanding of His Word. My brother when he first got saved was given a NIV version, then he found my King James and when he began reading it told me that he could actually understand it better. You may be able to get some king of knowledge from these “versions”, but in order to truly understand the Bible, we need the entire Bible. As we continue reading through the Gospels, news got out very quickly that Jesus was born, and not just in Jerusalem, but all over the world. You see, a star appeared over where Jesus was, and it actually followed Him. Wise men, also knows as Magi, came from all over the world to get a glimpse of the little baby that would not only save the world from their sin, but reign as KING. During that time a wicked man named Herod was the king, and was not too pleased when these men came in search of the King of the Jews.

[Matthew 2:1-7  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,  2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.  3  When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.  4  And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.  5  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,  6  And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.  7  Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.]

[for thus it is written by the prophet,] This is the Scripture they were referring to, [Micah 5:2  But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.] You see, they only got half of the Scriptures right, for had they really known them, then they would have also known that Jesus would be raised in Nazareth. And this is always why you cannot read one line of Scripture and expect to understand what is going on. And regardless, Herod was not about to lose his throne. [when he had privily called the wise men,] [Privily; Privately; secretly.] After Herod had heard from the scribes that a ruler would be born out of Bethlehem, he secretly spoke to the wise men and asked them to find him and let him know where he is. Well, the wise men eagerly went out and searched for Jesus, and when they found Him they rejoiced, but once they got there they were told not to go back to Herod.

[Matthew 2:8-12  And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.  9  When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.  10  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.  11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.  12  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.]

[till it came and stood over where the young child was.] Now, for the first time ever all these Scriptures from the prophets concerning Jesus are coming to pass and these people are horrified at the thought. Why? For one, they had no idea what the Scriptures said until they started searching through them. And two, they had already had their congregation believing that their traditions were Law, if word got out that they had been lying all this time, then the people would leave and turn to the truth. Now, after the wise men left, God also warned Joseph that Herod was trying to kill His Son, and sent him to Egypt until he died.

[Matthew 2:13-15  And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.  14  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:  15  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.]

[Out of Egypt have I called my son.] This is the Scripture referring to this prophecy, [Hosea 11:1  When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.]. Once again, Egypt becomes a place of refuge, only this time, it was for God’s only begotten Son. At this point, Jesus is about two years old. Herod waited two years for the wise men to bring word that they had found Jesus. How do we know this? Well, once the king got word that the wise men did not return, he had all children two and under killed in Bethlehem.

[Matthew 2:16-18  Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.  17  Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,  18  In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.]

[spoken by Jeremy the prophet,] This is the Scripture convening this prophecy, [Jeremiah 31:15  Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.]. And this is another reason why you cannot just read one line of Scripture to understand what is going on, because these men had said that Jesus would be in Bethlehem, who knows how many children and babies were killed. Forget the fact that Herod was that so wicked and worried about losing the throne that he resorted to killing babies, he also went into the wrong city. And had they really been reading the Scriptures, they would have discovered that Jesus would be in Egypt. Now, after Herod died, God did tell Joseph to head back to Israel, out of fear of Herod’s son, who seemed to have been worse than Herod, he chose to reside in Galilee, in the city of Nazareth.

[Matthew 2:21-23  And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.  22  But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:  23  And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.]

[He shall be called a Nazarene.] [Nazarene; a term used for an early Christian sect in first-century Judaism, and later a sect of Jewish Christians.] [Nazareth; “the guarded one” or Nazer; “the branch”] This is why this Scripture is referring to this prophecy, [Isaiah 11:1-3  And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:  2  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;  3  And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:]

See, you learn something new every day from the Scriptures, I have read this passage dozens of times, and never realized that being a Nazarene was referred to the early Church. Well, the prophecies were also true concerning the Branch who would grow out of His roots with wisdom and quick understanding. Jesus grew to know the Scriptures quite well and even at the age of twelve he had the wisdom of doctors and professors. Jesus was raised in a God fearing, Jewish home, where they would observe the Law, including the feasts. Every year Joseph and Mary would take a trip up to Jerusalem with family and friends for the Passover, of course, Jesus was among them. Now, this was about three day journey for them, this time, Jesus decided that He was going to stay behind, only Mary and Joseph did not know that.

[Luke 2:40-43  And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.  41  Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.  42  And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.  43  And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.]

[the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem;] Now, of course, Mary was frantic when she started asking everyone in the group if they had seen Jesus. When she discovered He was not with the them, her and Joseph went back to Jerusalem. They were actually quite a ways out so it took them about a three day to get back into town. And what to there amazement do they find? Jesus in the temple, talking with these doctors, [Luke 2:46-49  And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.  47  And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.  48  And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.  49  And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?]

[thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.] This is another reason why you cannot just grab Scripture and understand what it means, if you did not know any better you would be like the millions of other people who believe that Joseph is Jesus’ father. Of course, by reading through it, we know that God is His father, and even they knew, Mary was just so worried that she did what every parent would do after they found their child who they had lost. Well, Jesus knew that He was not lost, which is why He said what He did. Mary and Joseph somehow lost sight of what Jesus was brought here for because of their fright, and did not understand what he was saying to them. Nevertheless, He went back home with them.

[Luke 2:50-52  And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.  51  And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.  52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.]

[and was subject unto them:] One could wonder if Jesus sinned by what He did here, but He did not, had He remained there when they had told Him to return with then, then He would have sinned. We should all be so inclined to be about our Father’s business, to have a deep desire to learn His Word, understand His ways, and what He expects of us. Salvation is never something we forget, but it can be something we lose sight of, even when we are following His Law. God often has to remind us that this life we are living is not about the works we in remembrance of the Law, it is about bringing all to the understanding of the Gospel, [Galatians 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Luke 2:40  And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.]

Today’s Prayer: God, I want to walk in the wisdom of Your Word in the choices I make today, You have given me the freedom to choose how to live my life and I choose to live it to please You. I know I will not always be obedient, but also know that Your grace is sufficient enough to get me back in it every time and as I live in subjection to Your Word learn to be more like Your Son and less like myself. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
