Message: Satan’s End

Hello My Friend,

I really did not know where this study was going only that Satan was the subject as he came to mind from the chapters. As evil as Satan is, we have to give him some credit, he really cannot do any more to us than God allows. Now, keep in mind that God would never tell him to rape someone or abuse a child. God nor Satan is to blame for man’s freewill, neither one can force us to do anything. All the evil may be influenced by Satan, but we are the ones accountable for the life we choose to live as well as where we will spend eternity. Those who account that they are sinners, need Jesus Christ to save them, and accept Him as their Saviour, do not have to worry where they will spend eternity, Satan has no power over them.

[Luke 10:18-21  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.  21  In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.]

Satan has another name, Lucifer [Isaiah 14:12], he was actually an archangel, right up there in ranks with Micheal. He was a beautiful creature, respected and adored, but he one major flaw, pride. And he was not satisfied the position he had, he lusted over God’s power, and wanted to be God Himself. There was actually a war up in heaven, right about the time that God was instructing Adam [Revelation 12]. Of course, he lost, was cast down to earth, and well, we know how the story goes. Now, as we continue reading through Ezekiel, God continues his judgment on Tyre. Remember, they used the fall of Jerusalem to make themselves rich, and God was not at all pleased with that. And now we come to the real reason why God was so angry with them. During that time, Ethbaal, or Ithobal, was the prince of Tyre; being lifted up with excessive pride, he claimed divine honors, meaning he thought himself, not a god, but God Himself.

[Ezekiel 28:2,6-9  Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: 6  Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;  7  Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.  8  They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.  9  Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.]

[though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:] Believe it or not, right now, Satan is the prince of the world. Now, again, he cannot touch saved souls, but he can possess lost souls, and that is how they become so evil. Remember what Jesus said about the unclean spirit that lives in a lost soul, [Luke 11:24-26  When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.  25  And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.  26  Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.]. The very lost souls who know of God, perhaps even spent time with Him, become more evil than if they had not known Him at all. Now, as we continue read this chapter, even though He is still addressing Tyre, this is where we actually discover that God is talking specifically to Satan.

[Ezekiel 28:1314,16,18-19  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.  14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 16  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 18  Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.  19  All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.]

[and never shalt thou be any more.] The day will come when Satan will have his day in court, he will stand before Jesus as well, and will be given the judgment of an eternity in hell and the lake of fire. And he is not the only one, his angles as well as all mankind who had not accepted Christ or believed at one point that God was going to send Him to save them, [Revelation 20:10,13-15  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.]

God had been known to use Egypt over the centuries, even to protect His only begotten Son. At one time, it was a great and powerful nation, in fact, many of the things we enjoy today were invented by the Egyptians. During the time of Jerusalem’s fall, Pharaoh proudly boasted of having established a kingdom so strong that even God was not powerful enough to take it from Him. Egypt’s pride and joy, of course, was the Nile River, God sent Ezekiel to Egypt to foretell of how He will use the Nile to judge them.

[Ezekiel 29:3-6  Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.  4  But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.  5  And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.  6  And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.]

[the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers,] It is probable that Hophra was the Pharaoh during this time, who is represented as the great dragon, or crocodile, that lies in the midst of his rivers to deceive and devour it’s prey. However, Satan, that true great dragon, has one agenda, to keep a soul from Christ, and he will deceive and devour his prey through their pride to do it. Pride is the fall of man, and the devil will use pride to destroy many souls, but the day will come, when He will be destroyed, [Revelation 12:9-10  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.]

[because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.] Alluding to the reeds on the banks of the Nile, which broke if one leaned upon them. All of Israel’s dependence on Egypt, all the way back to when they became slaves to them, proved hurtful instead of beneficial. Egypt was supposed to be a temporary dwelling for Israel until the famine had resided, then they were to head home. And God never forgot what they had done to them. God’s judgment of Egypt was unlike other nations that would become desolate forever.

[Ezekiel 29:10-11,13-15,21  Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.  11  No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.  13  Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered:  14  And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.  15  It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. 21  In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.]

[neither shall it be inhabited forty years,] Do you see what God did here? Israel spent forty years reaching the promised land. Egypt shall no more rule over the nations, this would be the downfall of Egypt as a civil war will break out, the land will be desolate for forty years, and they will never become a powerful nation again. God never forgets what the world does to His people, He will get vengeance, no matter how long it takes, [2 Thessalonians 1:7-8  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  8  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:]

[In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth,] The very downfall of Egypt will be the signal for the rise of Israel, the Messiah Himself will come, through the son of David, [Luke 1:26-38]. Satan, nations, and people can turn away from God all they want, but that does not change the fact that He is still in control of everything and sooner or later all will know that He is LORD. In order for our nations to be blessed we as individuals need to take a stand and realize that we cannot do this alone. Through Ezekiel, God continues foretelling His judgment placed on Egypt, but that he should also lament for them.

[Ezekiel 30:2-3,10-13  Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Woe worth the day!  3  For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen. 10  Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.  11  He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.  12  And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken it.  13  Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.]

[and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt:] Still today, Egypt has never regained the status of a world empire. It remains as a witness to the supreme authority of God. Once day, all Christians, who are scattered all over the world, will come together and find habitation in the land that God promised them. Right now, Satan is in his glory as the prince of this world for as long as God will allow him to be, but the day will come when that title will be stricken, and He will be no more. Until then, we who are saved and awaiting Christ need to be getting ready for His return, remember, this is not out home, [1 Thessalonians 5:2-4,8-10  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.  9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  10  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [Ezekiel 28:26  And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.]

Today’s Prayer: God, You love us so much, You want to see us prosper and give us everything we want and need, all You ask in return is that we worship only You. Lord, with all the temptations of the world, and the devil right there trying yo manipulate us, it can be difficult to stand tall. However, we can do all things by Your power. Lord, Lead us and guide us, give us Your power to keep Your first, and to first and far most, acknowledge You in all that You bless us with so we no do forget that it is You who gives us everything we have. Put Your hedge of protection around us to shield us from all evil. Should we fall, keep getting us back up and moving forward as we await the day You come for us. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
