Message: Blessing In Disguise

Hello My Friend,

[Blessings by Laura Story; We pray for blessings, we pray for peace, Comfort for family, protection while we sleep. We pray for healing, for prosperity. We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering. And all the while, You hear each spoken need. Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things ‘Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops? What if Your healing comes through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near? What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?]

I do not ask for it as often as I should, but it is usually when I am going through things that I do not understand, for God to give me peace that passes understanding. For the past week I keep saying what Job said, [Job 42:3b  therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.] We are never going to understand everything that God places in our lives, all we can do is trust that He has a purpose and a plan. Whatever it is that we are going through God wants us to trust that He will get us through it and understand that some of the greatest blessings come through the tears, [Matthew 5:3-8  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  4  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.  5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.  6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.  7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.  8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.]

When Samuel came to David, took that vial of oil, poured it on his head, and told him that God Himself has appointed him to be the next king, he never imagined just how much affliction her would face to get that position. And yes, he did shed many tears, many of his Psalms tell us that. Nevertheless, through it all, David never cursed or rebelled against God, and when he finally became king, he never let it go to his head, and actually thought of himself as an ordinary person who needs God every day. I Chronicles also gives an account to David’s concerning about not having a building for God. He was speaking with Nathan, the prophet about the matter when God had told Nathan to tell David that He does not want him to make building for him.

[I Chronicles 17:4-10  Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:  5  For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.  6  Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?  7  Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:  8  And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.  9  Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,  10  And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.]

[but have gone from tent to tent,] Before Christ sent the Holy Spirit into believers right after they receive Him, the Holy Spirit did not continually remain in a person. God moved His Spirit as He saw fit, and if God saw that a persons heart was changing, He removed His Spirit from them, we saw that with Saul. Today, once we receive Christ as our Saviour, the Holy Spirit automatically comes into our soul, but He never leaves us, He’s in our soul permanently, He is also known as our Comforter, whom Jesus promised to send in His place so that we can fellowship with Him until He either brings us home or returns, [John 14:26-27  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.]

[Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?] We do not need to help God out, He will tell us what He wants from us. As long as we trust Him and have faith in His Word, He will bless us with so much mow than we deserve. This is what David realized as he prays out to God.

[I Chronicles 17:16-20,23-24,27  And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?  17  And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.  18  What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.  19  O LORD, for thy servant’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.  20  O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23  Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.  24  Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee. 27  Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.]

[for thou knowest thy servant.] And this is why God kept His promise to David and used his lineage to send His only begotten Son through, he was humble and never thought of himself as a king or ruler, just a man who needed God to get him through each day. We get nowhere with God through pride, we get more than we ever dreamed of through humility. When we do not understand, the best thing we can do is ask God to show us the way, [Psalms 25:4-10  Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.  5  Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.  6  Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.  7  Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.  8  Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.  9  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.  10  All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.]

[The meek will he guide in judgment:] [Meek; Mild of temper; soft; gentle; not easily provoked or irritated; humble.] God exalts those who are humble, no matter what position they hold, [Matthew 23:12  And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.]

Let me tell you, we do not realize it because the majority of the time we do not understand God’s heart toward us. Just like any father, He wants the best for His children, His heart truly goes out to us, His thoughts toward us are only great, and the trials we go through, many of them of our own doing, are used to prepare us for the amazing life awaiting in His Kingdom. Amen! Until He brings us home, He is our help, our shield, our protection, and with our own hearts we can rejoice in Him as He blesses us through our faithfulness to Him. There are great, and quite overwhelming blessings that come from our giving our heart to God.

[Psalms 33:13-21  The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.  14  From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.  15  He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.  16  There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.  17  An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.  18  Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;  19  To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.  20  Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.  21  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.]

[he is our help and our shield.] Being a child of God is not the same as being a child of men. There is only one way to be a child of God, and that is through our faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Saviour. The blessings that God gives to His children are passed down to the children of men because of His mercies and grace upon His children. We may not understand all His ways, and we will honestly never comprehend His love toward us, and the great sacrifice He made to show that love. All we can do to thank Him is give our heart to Him, and praise our KING for all that He is, [Psalms 29:3-4,7-11  The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.  4  The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. 7  The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.  8  The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.  9  The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.  10  The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.  11  The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.]

[The LORD will give strength unto his people;] Let me tell you, nothing in this life can save us, apart from Christ. Nothing in this world is more powerful than Christ, His heart, eyes, ears, and blood is upon those whom have accepted Him as their Saviour. Once we accept Him He is with us forever, whenever we feel overburdened, restless, and no peace within our soul, we need to come to Jesus, for He is our rest, [Matthew 11:27-29  All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.  28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.]

Jesus Christ Magnified: [I Chronicles 17:11  And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.]

Today’s Prayer: God, The love you have for all us is astounding, Your heart itself is amazing, to love us so much that You sent your only begotten Son, that we might receive eternal life through our faith and acceptance of Him alone as our Saviour. Lord, there is nothing we can do to earn or keep ours salvation because it has been bought and paid for by Your Son, but we can be the example that Christ gave us so that others can find Him as well, and become one of Your children too. Lead us and guide us, give us open and tender our hearts to love as You love, teach us to have a heart like Jesus, and be willing to show them kindness as You have shown us. As we become more like Your Son, protect, and shield us from the evils that lurk about, and let us not become weary in well doing. While we are afflicted and have no understanding of why or the reason, keep reminding us that You are our rest and our peace that passes understanding. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
