Message: When God Hears You

Hello My Friend,

I will tell you that there is no greater feeling than seeing that God has heard your praises, your pleas, and even your protests. It is actually kind of emotional and overwhelming to discover that God had heard you, even learning of it within ours of your petition. Sometimes, God even speaks to me about something even before I have talked to Him about it, and that is really scary. I have had pastors tell me that God does not speak to us the way He spoke to people before Jesus’s passion, but I disagree, I know He speaks to me, that is why He gives us His Spirit to indwell us. I for one, believe what Jesus says, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. – John 14:16-17.

We cannot just speak to God out of the blue and get Him to answer us, there are some we must do even in order for Him to hear us. First, in order to speak one on one with God we need to change our clothes. As God continues to instruct Moses on what He expected from the children of Israel and the strangers that abode with them He comes to those whom will minister to Him, in other words those who will do His work. He chose the children of Levi to be the ones who would serve Him continually, Aaron and his sons would actually be known as priests, the ones who would do the work in the sanctuary. God instructs Moses to have special garments made just for serving Him in the tabernacle.

And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be. And it shall be upon Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.– Exodus 28:1-3,36-38.

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.” Think about how filthy we get after having worked a long day, you want to clean up and change your clothes. The elements of a day in the world for a Christian are full of evil, temptation, and emotions, they cover our spirit, mind, and even our bodies with filth, likewise, we want to clean up and change these garments too. And that is where Christ comes in, He not only gives us new clothes to wear, He cleans us and gives us holy garments to stand before Him in glory and beauty. “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.– Isaiah 64:6-8.

The second thing we must to do to get God to hear us is to clean ourselves, I know this sounds backwards, but listen to God’s perspective on this and you will understand. God instructs Moses on when the priests were to put on the Holy Garments and what they had to do in order to consecrate themselves so they can minster to Him.

And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish, And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock. And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar. And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar. And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him. But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.” – Exodus 29:1-3,11-14.

it is a sin offering. No matter who we are we cannot seek anything from God until we have been atoned for our sin. Before we come to Jesus we are filthy, covered in sin, and forbidden to come into His sanctuary. Sin makes us so filthy that when Jesus was on the cross at Calvary God could not even look at Him for with Him was laid every sin ever committed. Jesus was the sinless sacrifice that not only brought atonement for a little while, but permanently. “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.– Hebrews 9:11-12.

God’s tabernacle is within every saved soul of Jesus Christ, naturally since He dwells in every believer He would have to make sure they are consecrated. The second we believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of our sinless Saviour, and accept Him as the blood sacrifice needed to be clean, we are sanctified, holy and able to stand before God Him. While salvation is permanent through Christ we still need to remind ourselves daily so we can rid ourselves of the filth that we are exposed to after we are saved. God instructs Moses on the continual sacrifices of two lambs, one was to be offered in the morning and one in the evening.

And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.– Exodus 29:41:41-46.

and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.” “Your body shall be sanctified by my glory!” This is what God says to us the second we receive His Son as our Saviour. “Your body is sanctified by my Son!” It does not matter what we have done in our past or what we do in the future, we are sanctified through Christ and He dwells among us. That being said, we ought to be living in a way that glorifies Him, if we are living in sin and expecting God to hear us we are lying to ourselves. We are redeemed by Christ, we are not exempt from the consequences that result from sin should we remain living in sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.– I John 1:8-10.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.” – Exodus 29:18.

Today’s Prayer: God, We know that there is nothing we can do or say to merit salvation, it is a free gift to all who believe in the ultimate price that Your Son paid for our sins. Thank You, Jesus for giving Your life and saving my soul. And thank You also for cleansing me so that I may be able to stand before You sanctified and glorified. Help me to be the faithful servant that You want me to be, give me the strength to remove all the hindrances from my life that keep me from serving You with my whole heart. Lead me and guide me away from anything that defiles me, and fill me with Your mercy, grace, and the things that are acceptable to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
