Message: Touch Not The Unclean Thing

Hello My Friend,

I remember when I had the chicken pox, I got it from someone at school, and then my brother got it, we were shut up in the house for about a week, until the spots dried up. It was itchy, I did not feel good, and we had to put this lotion on our skin to keep from scratching or it got worse. Infectious diseases are something that come as a result of sin, meaning it is part of the curse that was handed down to us, but when you think about it disease is like sin, we do not have to even do anything ourselves, just being around someone who is diseased in their sin can expose us to it, and we get the repercussions of it. As Christians, it is important that we separate ourselves from those who are diseased in their sin.

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” – II Corinthians 6:14-18.

and touch not the unclean thing;” The second we receive the Lord, Jesus Christ as our Saviour He cleanses us from all of our sins, we are then His people, children of the living God, that means we are to be holy, just as He is holy. Saved or unsaved, we are to separate ourselves from anyone or thing that would defile our body, those who live in the world are unclean, the longer we stay around them the easier it is to be defiled. Israel, there were about two million people making the trip from Egypt to Canaan, they needed to keep themselves clean, otherwise the entire camp would get infected. God was so adamant about this that He even kept them from eating certain animals, even consuming these unclean animals would be an abomination.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,” – Leviticus 11:2-4,9,11,13.

but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.Abomination; Very hateful; detestable; loathsome. We are to look at something sinful as loathsome, and not even want to touch it, even the thought of touching it brings chills to our spine. I loath cigarettes, I cannot stand them, even as a girl, back then my mother smoked, I would give her a hard time about smoking. We must look at sin the same way, and avoid it at all cost. God goes on further, even if they touched a dead animal they would be defiled.

And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even. And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even. And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.” – Leviticus 11:24-28.

And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes,If we are going to expose ourselves to sin we need to immediately cleanse ourselves from it. This is why Jesus tells us that we need to wash our feet, even though we are saved. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.” – John 13:10.

and ye are clean, but not all.” Not everyone we get around, and this includes those who say they are Christians are saved, which is why we can get defiled by the elements of the world, and need to wash our feet daily to remove that filth. Now, God no longer forbids His people to eat certain animals, claiming it is all good, but the reason He did it back that was for the same reason He tells us not to be yoked with unbelievers or those who are saved and live in sin, we are His, and need to act like it, and not do the things of the world.

For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.” – Leviticus 11:44-47.

To make a difference between the unclean and the clean,We are clean, if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour then we are clean, that means we are to be different than the world, we are to be seen by the world as one of those Jesus freaks. Why? To bring others to Him. In this sad state of time people either despise Jesus or have no idea who He is at all, we need to let them see that there is true hope beyond all this mess. Now, from becoming unclean by the touching or eating certain animals, to becoming unclean by defiling the body itself, God comes to the laws in which they must take care of their body. Since we are all born in the womb of a woman filled with water and blood, God starts with the cleansing or purification of a woman after childbirth.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:” – Leviticus 12:1-6.

then she shall be unclean two weeks,Why does the woman have to go twice as long to be cleanse when she has a girl? Her infirmity. Infirmity; An unsound or unhealthy state of the body; weakness; feebleness. A woman who just had a baby would be weak and unclean as she would be recovering and menstruating, this did not mean that she sinned when she conceived, this goes all the way back to Eve, she sinned first. God put an enmity between her seed and His, meaning we are all conceived and born into sin (except for Jesus) and need to be cleansed. When Mary had Jesus she accomplished the days of purification herself, and was so poor she could only afford to bring two pigeons or turtledoves. “And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.” – Luke 2:22-24.

Our soul will never be unclean in the eyes of God because He looks at us through His Son, who is in us. As for the rest of us, we really do need Jesus to keep us from defiling ourselves. Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that effects and controls the entire body, it starts out as a small white spot then slowly eats through a persons muscle, causing the nervous system to shut down as well as hair loss and even loss of limbs. There was no cure for leprosy, if someone contracted it it really took a miracle from God for them to be cured. God gave specific instructions on how to handle those who appear to have leprosy.

When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests: And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean. And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean. And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.” – Leviticus 13:2-3,6,45-46.

and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip,You have seen people that walk around with masks on their faces, often, these are people who have something contagious, and the mask keeps them from spreading the germs around to keep healthy people from getting infected. While this can be a whole new lesson in itself on how Jesus is our mask to keep the world from infecting us with its germs, a saved person can be contaminated with sin, and it can spread like wildfire, and we could get infected by them, which is why we need that invisible mask, armor actually, covering us daily. “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.” – Leviticus 12:8.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to walk on this earth and show us the way to You. It is only through Him that we have forgiveness and hope of eternal life when we confess we are sinners and ask Him to save us from our sin. Now, as one of Your children, my soul is clean through Your blood, but show me how You want me to live, teach me to be obedient to all Your commands, keep me from exposing myself to sin, help me to remain separated from the world, and use me to make a difference as you day by day sanctify me from the elements of sin that defile my body and spirit daily. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
