Message: Thy Loving Kindness Is Better Than Life

Hello My Friend,

Loving; Entertaining a strong affection for. Kindness; Act of good will; Any act of benevolence which promotes the happiness or welfare of others. As we observe the week that led to the passion of Christ, today would be the day in which Jesus would be on Calvary, hanging on the cross. Do you not understand? Do you not realize the loving kindness that Jesus has for you? He gave His life for you. He came here to die for you so that your soul can live forever. And by believing in Him and receiving Him you become one with Him, and He delights in that. We may not live under the best conditions, but God delights in our welfare, we are the ones who make things worse by seeking what the world desires rather than what God desires for us. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” – Jeremiah 9:23-24.

that he understandeth and knoweth me,Let me tell you, there is nothing more eye opening than understanding and knowing who Jesus is. The more we come to know Jesus as both God and man, we understand that He truly has a strong affection for us, and delights in our happiness. We just have to endure some things in order to get them. When Samuel anointed David to be the next king of Israel, appointed by God Himself, he never fully comprehended the impact it would have on him once Saul discovered it was him, especially when people were all too willing to turn him in from some reward from Saul. Saul got word from the Ziphites that David was hiding out there, and sent an army of three thousand men to capture him, but David was one step ahead of him.

David therefore sent out spies, and understood that Saul was come in very deed. And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him. Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee. So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him. Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time. And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD’S anointed, and be guiltless? David said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.” – I Samuel 26:4-10.

the LORD shall smite him;” Those men, Abishai, Abner, and Joab will play a huge part in David’s life, all them will discover what happens when they go against God’s anointed. Unless we are acting in self defense, we cannot take the law into our own hands. Do not think for one second that God in His loving kindness does not watch over His people and protect them. Yes, there have been many Christians persecuted and martyred for their faith, and God will judge their offender in His time, but a saved soul will be with Jesus. Amen! Filled with much despair, David prayed to God that night, it was probably as he overlooked that camp.

A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.” – Psalm 35:1-9,27-28.

it shall rejoice in his salvation.” We do not realize just how many times God does try to reach a soul to be saved, and once we are saved, we do not realize all that Jesus saves us from, not only from hell. Believe it or not, God in His loving kindness truly does delight in our prot4ection and prosperity, He never fails to take care of His faithful, even if that means He brings us home when our purpose on earth is done. After David spends time with God, he realizes something, he was able to walk right up to the king, and no one was there to protect him. He walks into the camp and upbraids them for nor protecting Saul, and Saul heard his voice.

And Saul knew David’s voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king. And he said, Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand? Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly. And David answered and said, Behold the king’s spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch it. The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed. And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation. Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.” – I Samuel 26:17-18,21-25.

because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day:” There is the saying, “Kill them with kindness.”, every soul is precious to Jesus, He died for each and every person He created. So, it does us no good to do to our enemy what they have or planned to do to us, but it does do good to show them kindness as Jesus would. Do you think that Jesus did not get angry with His offenders? Do you think for one second that Jesus did not get vengeance? Just like David said, “the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.” God truly, in His loving kindness gets vengeance in His time. David discovers something, it did not matter what he face, God’s loving kindness is better than life.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes. But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.” – Psalm 63:3-11.

thy right hand upholdeth me.We must understand that God, in His loving kindness, holds our soul in His hand, and there is nothing you, the devil, or anyone else can do to change that. Being saved does not mean we are not going to be tempted, tried, fall into temptation, or be discouraged when we are going through the trials of life. It does mean that we can praise God knowing that He holds our soul in His hand, and we will be with Him always. Keep in mind that one minute David was praising God and the next felt things were just as hopeless as the rest of us when we see no end in sight to our affliction. David, just knew in his heart that he was going to die in the hands of Saul before he ever go the chance to become king. He decided that he was going to leave, and went back to Gath, which I discovered is actually Philistine territory, and asked their king if he could reside there.

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand. And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath. And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife. And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months. And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt. And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites. And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.” – I Samuel 27:1-3,7-8,10,12.

therefore he shall be my servant for ever.” Talk about a turn of events? It may seem like David made a decision against God’s will, but God did allow it for several reasons. One, He was preparing David to be king, two, He used David to do something that should have been done centuries ago, and three, He took him away from was about to happen in the battle that was to come. Sometimes, God in all His loving kindness will take us places that we will never understand, and it can discourage us, but if we trust Him we will more than endure, we will learn that the tribulations we went through helped mold and shape us for the purpose He brought us here for. Whether it be a king, a missionary, a servant, a wife, a maid, or anything in between, Christ perfects us in His loving kindness what we are sent here for. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” – II Timothy 2:19-21.

Jesus Christ Magnified: The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed.” – I Samuel 26:23.

Today’s Prayer: God, It seems like it has been years since I chose to dedicate my life to Your Son, I know I have had my ups and downs, gotten discouraged, depressed, and sorrowful as I went through tribulations. I have come a long way since then, and it is only by Your mercy and grace that I am who I am today, one thing is for sure, I see Your hand holding on to me wherever I go, and although You keep my on my toes with one trial after another, I will keep praising You because I know You are not only perfecting me, you are perfecting those You bring into my life also. Lord, lead me and guide me, early I will seek You, my soul thirsts for You, my flesh too in this dry and thirsty land. You have my soul tucked under Your wings, and it is perfect, the rest of me needs work, fill me with Your mercy and grace, never let me cease from praising You, in my tribulation, keep me looking to You, and holding on to the hope of knowing I see You face to face. In Your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
