Message: Thou Shalt

Hello My Friend,

Thou shalt, whenever you see these two words together you automatically know that God is telling you not to do something, you do not even have to be a Christian or ever read the Bible, and you know this is God. I will admit that I do not always understand why God forbids some things, I can understand immorality, idolatry, and witchcraft, but some things are confusing. God gave over six hundred commands to the Jews, the reason being is that He seen how doing those things destroys not only nations, but souls. God also knew they could never follow them all, but what it all came down to is fearing God, thou shalt do well then you will be accepted by Him. “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” – Genesis 4:7.

If thou doest well,” God did not expect Israel to know every command, and many do not all apply to us now, some had to do with what was going on at that time. God had already seen how wicked the world can become, in fact, He destroyed it once for the doing the things He forbid. He knew Israel would be walking into a country that did not know Him, and was full of idolatry and immorality, He stresses the importance of them being holy.

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God. And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will. It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire. And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted. Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.” – Leviticus 19:2-7,15,18,33-34.

it shall not be accepted. As much as God wants every single person He created to choose Him, He leaves that up to each and every one of us, and if we choose Him, we must come to Him through His Son. Jesus is the truth, the life, and the way, no one come to God unless it is by Him, period! We can follow every one of the six hundred and thirty commands God gave the Jews, but unless we come to Christ we will not accepted by God. And it is not enough to just believe in the Gospel, we must also repent, turn our minds away from thinking that our works save us, and turn to Christ alone. Ignorance to this does not save us, there is no time for tomorrow, and certainly no time three days from now, if we were to die this instant without Christ we would be in hell. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” – Acts 17:30-31.

whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,” There was a question in a Christian forum asking if God allowed a Christian to marry a Muslim. Of course, God does not want people of different faiths to be married as it brings complications, but some people were saying if they did they would be living in sin, and would lose their salvation. We have to be careful with our words, we are all sinners regardless of what life we choose to live, and we will be accountable for our sin if chose to live in it and do not repent, turn away from it, but we cannot lose our salvation. Jesus gave us eternal life for our soul once and for all through our faith in Him alone, that is our assurance, and those who say they were saved and denounce Jesus were likely not saved to begin with because Jesus truly changes you once He gets in you, you really gravitate to His Law, and want to obey His commands, even though we are saved by grace alone. We must understand there was no set rule for Israel or Gentile, the same rule applied to all. God reminds them that no one is allowed to sacrifice their children.

Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people. Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.” – Leviticus 20:2-5,22-24.

And I will set my face against that man,God despises those who sacrifice their children, they are His, they belong to Him, and He will have nothing to do with anyone who takes their lives. This is a sad reminder of all the children that are killed in the womb, as they are delivered, or in the hands of parents or caregivers, all sacrificed to the god of self. We often wonder how people can be so heartless, this is pure evil, the devil himself, and he controls them, their heart and conscience has been seared of any reason. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” – I Timothy 4:1-5.

which God hath created to be received with thanksgivingLike I said before, much of the Law of Moses does not apply to us today because it had to do with the Jews at that time, and it was demolished when Jesus went to the cross, but we must keep it close to our heart because God has not changed His stance on things, idolatry, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, murder, these are all sin to Him. Of all the sins we can commit, the most effective are the ones we do with our body. God gives specific commands against immorality of all kinds.

And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” – Leviticus 20:10,13-16.

that there be no wickedness among you.” Israel saw much of this themselves already, and apart from it being sinful, it really does bring confusion. I just read about a couple that was raising their child up as an it, letting them decide what gender they would be when they are old enough to decide that for themselves. Really? There are only two genders, period! And we have anatomies to prove that. Yes, there are some eunuchs out there, but they were males to begin with. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” – Genesis 1:27.

in the image of God created he him;” This means that God created us with a body, soul, and spirit, two genders, male and female. Yes, it is confusing to the boy who has two mothers or the girl who has two fathers as to why they have no father or mother. Yes, it is confusing to a child who has siblings that have a different father or mother. Yes, it is confusing for the child who was born in a home where one parent knows Christ and the other Allah. Can God work around this? Sure He can, but it is better to obey the law then to sacrifice. Children are always affected by choices their parents make, there is always a price for sin, and unfortunately, we all suffer the repercussions of the choices the world makes. The world will tell you that everything that is an abomination to God is acceptable, they reject, criticize God, and Christ because they know what they are doing is not acceptable. If we are going to choose God He expects us to become that image He created us to be, especially of we are going to be serving Him. God gives specific commands to the Levites, who would be serving Him.

Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God. He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.” – Leviticus 21:7-22.

He shall eat the bread of his God,” If you were to read this passage as someone in the world you would think that God rejects those who have infirmities, the blind, deaf, short, crippled, this is untrue since it is God who likely created a person that way, and we learned that they were not to treat them any differently from the last chapter. What God is referring to here is while our infirmities have a way of limiting us from doing certain things, they in no way keep us from getting saved, nor serving God in the way that He chooses. I cannot get on my knees, but that does not stop me from going to the altar and praying. Infirmities are used for God’s glory. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” – Ephesians 4:11-13. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.” – Leviticus 20:26.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your commands, while I do not understand them all, I do know that they have a purpose, because You already seen the result of what happens when others have done them first. Lord, I want to stand before You holy and acceptable, give me Your power, mercy, and grace to discern and understand what is acceptable to You, help me to understand, follow, and teach Your truths to all, and let me never be ashamed to tell the truth. As I obey Your commands, I know that You will be watching over me, walking with me, and helping me make decisions that are pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
