Message: The Word of God is Quick

Hello My Friend,

I read an article about a group of “Christians” carrying signs in front of a crowd of people during a gay pride event that was apologizing to them for the way Christians judge them and how much God loves them just the way they are. Those signs did not represent Christ nor did they show any truth other than that God loves them. Of course, God loves them, He loves all us sinners, Jesus died for all, but He does not love sin. Have you seen what the modern churches teach? It is not repentance to salvation in Christ, their message, while I am sure they mean well, does not help, all it does was is send people to hell because they really have no idea who Christ is. They preach a watered down version of the truth as to make they feel accepted, but we cannot water down the Word of God for the sake of not offending people, they must know the truth before it is too late. The Word of God is powerful, it will cut like a knife. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12.

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The reason people get so offended by the Word of God is because it is powerful, it cuts right through our heart, showing us that we are indeed sinners. While we are not to dwell on the end times, we must not ignore them either because they are coming. Many Christians who are saved have this idea that as long as they are saved their actions are justified, things like homosexuality, idolatry, immorality, even drunkenness are accepted because they accepted Christ as their Saviour. We must understand that salvation is not just a free ticket out of hell card, there will be judgment, I know it is sad to think about, but God cannot stress the importance of us knowing that Judgment Day is coming for all, but we can be saved from it. The judgments that God placed on Israel were to show us that He is not messing around, what He allowed to happen in Israel He will allow to happen to any nation that refuses to heed His warnings. Through Amos, God continues to warn Israel of the judgment coming to them, He also stresses His anger for their not only ignoring Him, but their not being concerned about the judgment that was coming.

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.” – Amos 6:3-8.

but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.” Religion often paints this picture that sin is justified by salvation, and yet there is no concern for the souls of man. It should be fixated on the heart of every Christian to make sure that every person they know knows that Jesus Christ can save them. While I do believe that God gives all who believe in Him the opportunity to know His Son, it is up to us who are saved to tell them. We must not take the judgments of God lightly, sinful behavior is not acceptable to God, even if we are saved, souls are at stake, we have to get past the fear of offending someone and start preaching the Gospel to all, no matter where God leads us. Let me tell you, you will be rejected and sometimes even persecuted for telling them, when word got around that Amos was telling of the judgments Amaziah, the priest confronted him, telling him to stop.

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more: And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword. Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words. For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land. Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.” – Amos 7:7-13,17.

But prophesy not again any more at Bethel:” The world does not want to hear that they are sinners and will die and end up in hell for their sin if they do not receive Christ as their Saviour. And then those who do know who God is certainly do not want to hear that He is going to judge them for their sin well before Christ returns. There will come a time when it will be too late and no one will hear it at all, which is why we cannot stop talking about it now. Count it a great blessing that we are in the midst of a nation that still knows God, there will come a time when people are going to be so desperate that they will seek to hear from Him, but He will not be found. God speaks of this time, a time when people will wander the world in search of His Word, but not be able to find it.

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” – Amos 8:4-7,11-12.

and falsifying the balances by deceit?Sometimes when I read about the prophesies concerning God’s judgment upon Israel I tear up because the people were so consumed in their sin that they not only refused to listen, they down right attacked anyone who attempted to tell them what was about to happen. Imagine a time so dark that the poor oppress each other? We are not far from that right now. The world and many Christians question all the evil and wonder how God can allow it all and not intervene. God tries, but they are not listening. Let me tell you, that day is coming again, when we will not be allowed to have a Bible in our possession, and it will be against the law to preach Jesus, in some countries it already is. However, judgment is coming, and there will be no escape unless we know Christ as our Saviour. Through Amos, God warns of this, but also gives hope.

Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down: And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them: And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD. For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.” – Amos 9:2-4,8-10,14-15.

and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations,” Can you imagine the thousands of souls who are in hell right not that actually walked the earth and saw Jesus face to face, even fought with Him? I bet they would be the first to tell us to believe? The Jews too have the mentality to think that they can do whatever they please, and get away with it because they are God’s chosen. A lot of people misread God’s Word when He says that all of Israel will be restored. What God means by this is that the nation of Israel itself will be restored, no matter what race you are born into, the only way we get to be saved from judgment is through Jesus Christ. “Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;” – Romans 2:9-12.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.” – Amos 9:6.

Today’s Prayer: God, You made it easy for us to be saved from Judgment Day, admit we are sinners, believe in the finished work of Your Son, and confess that He alone is the only one who can save us. Salvation is one thing, living our lives afterward is another, if we are not living by the example of Your Son we are going to have a miserable life here. You keep us here in the midst of the world so that we may be a light to shine Christ upon those who are in the dark. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us Your power, mercy, and grace to follow Your commands, to live our lives as a reflection of Christ, and to tell all You lay upon our heart about Him before it is too late. Let us not be ashamed, intimidated, or afraid to let His Light shine through us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
