Message: The Greatest Gift

Hello My Friend,

As we are in the full swing of the Christmas season, most of us are out there searching for that perfect gift for all the people in our lives. We can spend hours, even days, looking for that perfect gift, but the second we see it, we know it is just for them. Let me tell you, the greatest gift is not something that we can wrap and put under a tree, it is something that Jesus can wrap around our soul, one that will literally give us life, even upon our death. That gift is eternal life through our faith in Him. Praise God! There are some that welcome death because they feel they have literally been living in hell. There are some that fear death so much that they go through drastic measures to try and prolong their lives. There are many that believe once you die it is over, and there are some that hope there truly is life after death. Can I tell you that all of these can be saved? They just need to hear the Gospel, that God loves them so much that He sent His Son to die for even them, and we need that reminder too sometimes, especially when the only gift we have to offer is the Greatest Gift. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” – Romans 5:8-11.

we shall be saved from wrath through him.” This wrath is not hell itself, while it is certainly something we want to avoid, this is the destruction of the world. One day, Jesus will return, literally gather all His saints, dead and alive, and all the earth will be destroyed. Yes, that is a scary thought, one that no one really wants to see happen, but it is a truth we cannot ignore. However, Jesus is not going to leave us high and dry, and up in the clouds for eternity, He is preparing a new, permanent earth for us to live with Him forever. Praise God! We can choose to believe that or not, but that does not change the fact that all of this will come to pass, and all of this started with one sin. In fact, one sin from one man, the first man God created. God told Adam that he could have everything he wanted on the earth, except for the fruit from one tree, and if they ate it then they would die. Of course, that one sin brought death upon his soul, meaning, God removed His Spirit from it, and death was passed down to all of us. But since God loves us, even then He had a plan for us to be reconciled with Him, and be able to receive His Spirit, and that plan was Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 5:14-21.

but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. What this means is, all it took was one sin to bring death upon all of is, but the gift of eternal life is freely given to us for multitudes of sin. One man brought death upon us, one man died and brought life upon all who believe in Him. and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ,The Greatest Gift, Jesus Christ our Lord. And the only gift that can give life to our soul. We are dead to sin, we live through Jesus Christ, if we believe in Him. Praise God! “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” – John 3:15-18.

We must understand that following the Law of Moses was not their plan of salvation, God knew they were incapable of obeying every command, but the Law was a guide to show them how God wanted them to live if they chose Him, and how to be reconciled with Him should they break the Law. Remember, you break one command, you break them all, the Law was not perfect because every time they sinned they had to seek redemption (payment) over and over again. Jesus being the Greatest Gift made redemption permanent, meaning He paid the price once and or all, we cannot lose our salvation nor do we have to keep asking Him to save us. Jesus died once to save us, therefore, we need to ask Him once to save us. Keep in mind that we still need to confess sin daily, and if we are living we need to stop, and we need to still use the Old Testament as our guide because God has not changed His views on sin.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:1-4,9-12,22-23.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,Sometimes it only takes me an hour to write these, and then there are days like today when it takes me three, and not because I was goofing off, but that God wants me to word things the way He wants them. It is really hard to comprehend some of the things we read regarding sin, we do have to realize that some things contained within the Law were specific to the Jews during that dispensation time. Yesterday we read, “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:” – Romans 2:14. People do not need a Bible to learn morals, our conscience teaches us what it is right and wrong as we are taught. The Law is our guide to teach us even further by showing us what God sees as right and wrong. Much of what we do after we are saved comes down to allowing the Holy Spirit to direct us from the Law as we truly learn to understand that God’s thoughts are not our own.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” – Romans 7:7-9,13-16,24-25.

but with the flesh the law of sin.” This is why it is our soul that is saved and not necessarily our flesh, no matter how many much we follow the Law through our own conscience, all it takes is one sin to break it. Concupiscence; Lust. It is the powerful, inspired, and only living Word of God that brings us to the knowledge that we have sinned, and it is the Holy Spirit withing every living soul that brings us to realize that we are wretched, there are countless times that I cry to God, saying how wretched my flesh is. Now, with all that gloom comes the promise, we are not bound to the law to our soul, but free, seeking to follow His commands through His Spirit in us.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” – Romans 8:27-30.

Moreover whom he did predestinate,While God wants all to be saved, He knows that not all are going to believe Him or His Son, but those who do have the promise of the Great Gift of eternal life awaiting them. We need not fear death because we are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation. Praise God! And by the way, even in our sin Jesus still loves us and never leaves us. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:35-39. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” – Romans 8:16-17.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for Your giving us the Greatest Gift, there is no greater joy that comes from knowing that by grace I am saved and not of my own works. I am so glad for that because I know I mess up every day, and yet, by Your grace I am still saved. I am redeemed of every sin I ever committed and will commit as long as I live in this flesh because You bought and paid for them all. I am more than justified, I am reconciled with You, Amen! I have great joy in knowing where I am going, and I have great joy in knowing what You have done for me over the years, I know I never want to be where I was before I dedicated my life to You, but trials and tribulations want to strip me of that joy. Lord, walk with me, talk with me, get my spirit right with You so that I connect with you and resist all temptation. Fill me with Your mercies and grace, Your power and might, Your wisdom and instruction, let me never lose sight of the joy that comes from knowing You as my Saviour. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
