Message: The Millennial Dispensation

Hello My Friend,

First of all, I need to make a correction from yesterday, I said that we are in the millennial dispensation, but I knew that was incorrect, but forgot to delete it, we are in the church dispensation, still called the age of grace. The millennial dispensation will be the age of the final judgment, which starts with Jesus returning and will end with Armageddon. After this, a new world will appear, one that all saved, born again believers of Christ will dwell forever. “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelation 21:2,6-8.

“coming down from God out of heaven,” This is the place Jesus is preparing for His believers as we speak (John 14:2-3), it is not ready yet because He keeps adding more buildings as people get saved, well, that is the picture in my mind anyway. And if you thought God creating the earth in six days was amazing enough, just imagine a new one floating down from the heavens. Now, when Jesus does return He is going to take the throne as KING, and reign here for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4), while His saved, born again believers will be resurrected or raptured at this time (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). During this time a new temple will be built as He deals with those who were left behind. God gives Ezekiel a vision of this, twenty-five years into the Jews captivity to Babylon.

“In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither. In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south. And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel. And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.” – Ezekiel 40:1-5.

“and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee;” This is Jesus, and He wants Ezekiel to see the size of the new temple that is about to be built in Jerusalem. This is huge, some have gone on to understand it to be the size of the earth. And it also includes the altar, and the tables for the animal sacrifices, which are no longer needed today since Christ’s passion. It is said that these last eight chapters in the book are by far the most difficult to understand, even Bible scholars pass it up, and the Jews will not even allow anyone to read Ezekiel until they are thirty, and even then, they vainly tell them they are to wait for Elias to explain it when he comes. How sad that the Jews are still so blind to the seeing that Elias has already been. “And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.” – Matthew 17:10-13.

“and restore all things.” What Jesus meant by this was that John the Baptist would restore repentance to God, and he did, but later was killed and then He too will suffer and die as John did. To get a better understanding of God’s Word, especially with something so complex, we do have to set our heart upon it and ask the Holy Spirit to explain what it means. And while some things are more complex, we must not take away the simplicity of the Gospel. Now, after the man showed Ezekiel the two inner courts of the temple he took him inside the temple, to show him the holy and most holy place. Remember, the most holy place is the innermost room where the God’s presence would actually dwell.

“Then went he inward, and measured the post of the door, two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the breadth of the door, seven cubits. So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place. The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered; To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure. And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces; So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.” – Ezekiel 41:3-4,16-19.

“and the narrow windows,” Both in Moses’s tabernacle, and Solomon’s temple, there were no windows, and God dwelt in thick darkness (1Kings 8:12), but in this temple there will be much light. The windows will be the height of the entire building and the priests will be able to see His presence. All of this is symbolic of Christ’s minsters during the millennial age. The palm trees, symbolic of the uprightness and sincerity of Christ’s ministers, their doctrine, ministry, and conversation, all reflecting Christ, through whom they are more than conquerors. “and every cherub had two faces;” The face of a man is symbolic of those who were redeemed by the blood of Christ, and the face of a lion, of the strength of the Gospel His minsters have to do their work in defending the Gospel, supporting the weak, and bearing their infirmities. The closer we get to Christ’s return the more difficult it will be to reach people with the Gospel, it will take the strength of Christ, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, and the power of the Father to see us through. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” – Romans 8:35-37.

“For thy sake we are killed all the day long;” Old Testament saints were frequently put to death, or exposed to the persecutions of men, which often resulted in death. New Testament saints likewise have been put to death for the sake of Christ and His Gospel. The suffering death of God’s people is noted through all the ages, but we are more than conquerors through our faith because we will be with Christ always and forever in His Kingdom. Now, the man showed Ezekiel the outer court before the holy place, this was the holy of hollies, where the priests would eat.

“Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north. Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy. When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.” – Ezekiel 42:1,13-14.

“where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things:” The meat (bread), sin, and trespass offering, these are a picture of Christ, who is the most holy thing, and has replaced the need for the bread, sin, and trespass animal offerings. Jesus is the bread of life, He sustains and keeps us safe in this world, He is also the blood that gives us life and sustains our soul for the new world (John 6:35). And all of God’s saints are priests, Christ being the High Priest, meaning we will be able to sit with Him face to face as He sits on His throne, and enjoy the feast that He has laid out for us forever. “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” – Hebrews 9:11-12. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” – I Peter 2:9-10.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.” – Ezekiel 40:3.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for sending Your Son to give us a permanent solution to salvation. We no longer need to bring animals to and temple made by mans hands and offer them in place of our own lives for redemption and atonement of our sins because His sinless death, burial, and resurrection paid it for us. Lord, while we await the day of Christ’s return, lead us and guide us to the lost and teach us how to reach them simply by telling them how Your Son saved us. Let us not get caught up in any strange doctrine or confusion, and help us to discern anything complex, or misleading. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus. Amen.
