Message: Lambs Among Wolves

Hello My Friend,

In reading these chapters for today I had tears in my eyes, tears knowing that no matter what we face as the world gets more corrupt we have someone backing us up in all this, Jesus Himself. Jesus said, “Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.” – Luke 10:3,8-9. Who are the sick and what do we heal them with? The lost souls and the Gospel. Jesus also said, “They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” – Luke 5:31b-32.

God was giving Daniel all sorts of visions about the end times, and although he really could not understand them all, he did understand that God had a plan and purpose for revealing them to him. Daniel became so distraught about all the information that was given to him that he mourned for three weeks. God saw his pain and sent someone to ease his mind.

“In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.” – Daniel 10:2-3,5-8.

“and there remained no strength in me:” When we see the prophecies of the Word of God unfolding before our very eyes and read about all the things that are about to come it can literally drain the life out of us. As I said yesterday, you feel deep grief, especially as you witness how corrupt our nations are becoming, and that is where Jesus comes in, He is our strength to keep going and doing the work He calls us to do before all these things come to pass. As Daniel laid there with his face to the ground someone touched him. “And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.” – Daniel 10:16-19.

“Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.” Jesus truly us our strength, and let me tell you, we need all the strength we can get as the days draw closer to these horrible events to take place. I will be the first to admit that I have a hard time reading Daniel and Revelation because every time I do I see us getting closer and closer to the tribulation. While I do not have to be concerned of where I will be going, I do need to be concerned of where others will be, after all, whether I think they deserve to know Christ and be saved is not my decision, God is the judge. If we think things are bad now, there will come a time when it will seem like all hell is literally breaking loose, that is until a charming, deceitful, cunning man will arise to bring peace to the world. Once he gets the people trusting him and make him king that is when the truth about him will be revealed. Jesus reveals to Daniel of what will come when this evil king arrives, and leading up to its destruction.

“And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” – Daniel 11:36-39,44-45.

“yet he shall come to his end,” Right now the devil is in all his glory as nation upon nation becomes more divided in their faith in Christ. And it is going to get much worse, he will have great power over this world, and for a time get his dream to be like God and rule the people and nations. Many of the prophecies concerning Persia and Greece have already taken place, including the histories of Xerxes, Alexander the Great, the division of his kingdom on his death, and the long conflicts between the kings of Syria and Egypt. The evil king, known as the Antichrist, will come to his end somewhere between Jerusalem and the Mediterranean, and it is the brightness of Christ’s coming only that will bring him to his doom. When? Well, that is a question we all ask. I even had a six year old ask me why God just does not destroy the devil already when He had the power to do it. Daniel hears as the man in linen speaks with another about this very thing.

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” – Daniel 12:1-4,7-10.

“but the wise shall understand.” This is where you will find people trying to come up with a timeline as to when all this will take place, but only God knows. Just like God told Daniel, Jesus gives all who are saved an understanding of the Gospel so that we can tell others how to be saved also. He does not give us this job because we are sinless or even the best Christian, He gives it to us so that they too can know how to be saved from all this. Let me tell you, it can be a little overwhelming to discover all things God reveals to us about the end times and state of the world before His Son returns, but we can be at ease knowing that there will be a better end while the devil finds his fate as well. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelation 21:7-8. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.” – Daniel 10:21.

Today’s Prayer: God, It sure is scary to think of all the crazy things going on all over the world today, it just keeps reminding us that we are getting closer to the tribulations and Your Son returning some time after. Lord, shield our hearts, keep them tender for You, give us Your mercy, grace, protection, wisdom, guidance, and power to stay true to You. Give us Your strength and patience to wait and not give into the temptations that are all around us by the devil trying to divide us. Lead us and guide us, and help us endure the sufferings we face here as we await for You to come and get us, and put Your words into our mouths that we might tell the lost You put in our path about Jesus before that happens. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
