Message: I Am The Way

Hello My Friend,

As I was going through some of my old messages I realized something, while each year I seem to go through some kind of affliction, I get closer in my relationship with Christ. It really is all about the devil, in fact, the closer you get to Jesus the more trouble you get from the devil, and while we may hate it and count it as a curse, it is actually a blessing. If the devil is not messing with us than we are not reaching people for Christ, and while God will allow him to mess with us, He cannot destroy us because we belong to Christ. Praise God! It is not fun being targeted by the devil, but with Christ by our side we can defeat him, we already got the greatest victory when we accepted Him as our Saviour, the rest comes as we get up each day knowing that we are one with Jesus, and have His promises awaiting us. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:1-6.

As we read through the Gospels it is interesting how each man tells the story, oh, they are all similar, but each one reveals something new about their experience with Jesus. John often referred to himself as the disciple that Jesus loved, he thought it necessary (well God did) to go further into detail of their last supper together. After they ate, Jesus did something that no one expected, He began washing their feet. Now, most of them just let Him do it without even questioning what He was doing, but Peter wanted to know why, and why only his feet.

Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.” – John 13:3-14.

ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.” So many people misinterpret this, while we as Christians ought to be there for each other, if you read the entire passage you will see that what Jesus is actually talking about is salvation. We are clean, atoned for our sins the second we believe in and receive Jesus as our Saviour, therefore we who are saved are to go out and wash their feet so to speak. Why feet? Think about where our feet go, we walk into and expose ourselves to some crazy things. And have you seen how dirty your feet can get? Jesus explains this another way, through a tree or vine and some branches.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” – John 15:1-7.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.Think about what Jesus is saying here. Every person God creates is born through the vine of Jesus Christ, we are His branches. If we reject Him we will get cut off from the vine and cast into the fire of hell, if we receive Him we are purged of our sin, made clean and become fruitful as we allow Him to live in and through us. Since Jesus is not here in the flesh, He needs willing vessels to show Him to the world. Every person who accepts Him as their Saviour receives the Holy Spirit in them, that means we are His and He is ours, and abides in us through the Holy Spirit. As we allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us, He shows us the things of God, teaches us how to understand His Word, and how to live our lives through it. The result, Jesus is manifested, clearly visible through us and seen in the world. Believers you never knew know Christ in You, unbelievers with convictions know Christ in you, and let me tell you, the world will hate you because they see Him in you. Jesus explains this further.

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.” – John 15:18-24.

but now they have no cloke for their sin.” The reason Jesus and we who walk with Him are hated so much is because it exposes their sin. There is great power in the name of Jesus alone as it convicts the most cunning sinner, and since they refuse to give up their sin they do whatever they can to eliminate the source that makes them feel guilty, including attack His faithful. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,” – Romans 1:18-21,29-30.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6.

Today’s Prayer: God, Your grace is sufficient to meet all my needs in the midst of any trouble that the devil has placed upon me. I am truly more than a conqueror because of Your love for me! I choose to believe Your Word and apply its wondrous truths to my life. I reject the devil’s lies that seek to convince me that I am an exception to Your redemptive power or that my troubles can never be removed by Your almighty hand. Your power is greater than any that the devil uses, and You are forever merciful to those who call upon You. I am so grateful that You have chosen me to be Your vessel to Your Son. Thank you for washing my feet and cleansing me from all my sin, and thank you for using me and working a great work in me. I love You Lord ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
