Message: Be Ready For Christ’s Return

Hello My Friend,

There is no doubt that every saved, born again Christian does not look forward to the day that Christ returns and takes us away from all this. I will tell you that while I am here I still want to accomplish some things, I mean, it is in my human nature and desire to, as they say, complete my bucket list before the day He either takes me home to heaven or returns. However, whatever I do not accomplish, whether it is something I just could have had, but missed because of bad decisions, or simply is not in the will of God for me, I will never regret my decision to make Christ LORD of my life, He is the only one I need or any of us needs when our time here is done. “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:11-13.

While none of us are really ready to go to heaven right this second, (unless one has been suffering through some horrible illness and is ready for Him to take them home) there is always great hope that when this life ends a new one begins with Christ, one where there is no more death, sickness, pain, suffering, hate, evil, or any of the cursed things we have to deal with because of sin. Tempting Jesus, the Sadducees ask Jesus who a woman is wife to after the resurrection if she married seven brothers, Jesus responds.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.– Luke 20:33-38.

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world,” That world is the Kingdom of God, the only ones worthy to obtain it are those whom are the saved, born again souls of believers of Christ. Even before Christ came here in the flesh, people had to believe in Him to be saved, meaning believe in the LORD, they may not have known His name, but they knew they needed the LORD, even David spoke of this. “And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?” – Luke 20:42-44.

While every generation has had their share of signs that Christ is returning soon, this generation has had more than any. Those who know Him have no problem understanding that the wars, evil, and natural disasters of today are signs of His return. Jesus answers the question of when and what signs will be before the destruction.

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls.– Luke 21:7-12,17-19.

for these things must first come to pass;” There is not one faithful Christian that does not see all these disasters taking place and wonder if Jesus will be returning soon. Of course, there is always someone predicting the day He will return and will get some people all stirred up, but I think that that is a way that God gets people to sober up and realize that He truly is coming one day. Jesus continues His response.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.– Luke 21:25-28,34-36.

then look up, and lift up your heads;Christ is returning, and no amount of ignorance or trying to silence those who know Him will stop that. People who deny Christ often taunt peace and coexistence with man yet they are the first to try and quiet Christians, but it is time to look up, and lift up your heads, for there will only be redemption for those who know Him as their Saviour. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” – II Peter 3:9-10.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” – Luke 21:27.

Today’s Prayer: God, While I do not know the hour in which Your Son will return, I do know that He is coming and I want to be prepared. Lord, lead me not into temptations or worldly pursuits that take my eyes off of You. Help me to be a watchful and sober at all times and to be a witness to others so they too can know that You will save them too if they only believe. I love You Lord, and pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
