Message: Be A Pillar

Hello My Friend,

House; A family of ancestors; descendants and kindred; a race of persons from the same stock; a tribe. Believe it or not, as quirky as we are, and as diverse as we are, as saved, born again Christians, we are all of the same house, the House of God. In case you did not know, God does not dwell in a building, He dwells in every saved, born again soul that receives Jesus Christ as their Saviour, [Ephesians 2:11-13,19-20  Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;  12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 19  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  20  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;]

[Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;] God dwells in all believers now through the Holy Spirit, they become the temple of God by our faith in Christ alone. The first temple ever built for this purpose was built by king Solomon, as instructed by his father, David. In the fourth year of his reign he began to fulfill that plan, he contacted the king of Tyre, and good friend of David’s, to ask for his help.

[II Chronicles 2:1-6  And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.  2  And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.  3  And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.  4  Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.  5  And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods. 6  But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?]

[I build an house to the name of the LORD my God,] Solomon, did not just say that the temple was for God, he said it was for his God. Early in his reign he was quite godly, and was not ashamed at all to admit that he not only worshipped God, but that He was his God. We should not be afraid or ashamed to embrace every opportunity to speak of God, and to impress others by out faith. Now that the people of Israel kept close to the law and worship of God, the neighboring nations were willing to be taught by them in the true religion is. There are thousands of churches, and some may even speak of the Almighty, but that does not mean they worship Him as He instructs, [Romans 1:16-17  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.]

You know, the temple was not built just by the Jews, it was built by Gentiles as well. We cannot build up God’s kingdom alone, while God does not need anyone to build Him up, He does need us to come together as one to help build up His church. Jesus is the foundation that we all need to be standing on, and we are the bricks that Jesus uses to build upon His foundation. With Solomon’s people and Huram’s people, construction of the temple began. Every piece, every detail that went into the temple was precise, pure, and only of the best quality work.

[II Chronicles 3:1-7,17  Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.  2  And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.  3  Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.  4  And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.  5  And the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.  6  And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.  7  He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls. 17  And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.]

[where the LORD appeared unto David his father,] The temple had to be built in the very spot that David had prepared. Remember, David purchased the threshing floor from Ornan during the plague that took seventy thousand lives in order to remove the plague per God’s instructions, [II Samuel 24:18-25] It is very important that if we want to worship God we do it according to His plan. Why? So that we know the truth. Following the instructions that God has laid out for us enables us to go about our work with the full assurance that we will be with God for eternity, [Hebrews 10:19-23  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,  20  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;  21  And having an high priest over the house of God;  22  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  23  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)]

[And he reared up the pillars before the temple,] Pillar; A supporter; that which sustains or upholds. Why did Solomon give these pillars names? Well, these pillars were not your average beam that kept the building from caving in, these were designed and named specifically for a purpose. Jachin, meaning he shall establish, was head over the priests during David’s reign, and Boaz, meaning fleetness or swiftness, was the kinsman redeemer who married Ruth, the Moabite, and kept the lineage of Judah going. He is also David’s great-grandfather, and written in the lineage from which Jesus would descend. These pillars, believe it or not, also represent every saved, born again Christian who stands on the foundation of Christ, [Revelation 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.]

Brick by brick, Jesus builds us up, from the inside out, so, what we put on the inside of our spiritual body is just as important as we put on the outside. An account is given of the dwelling area of the priests, and the furniture of God’s house, both without doors and within. There was also the brazen altar, on this all the sacrifices were offered, and sanctified the gift.

[II Chronicles 4:9-12,16-19  Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass.  10  And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.  11  And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God; 12  To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars; 16 The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass.  17  In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.  18  Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.  19  And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;]

[and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars,] Chapiter; The capital of a pillar. The uppermost part of a column, serving as the head or crowning. So, if we are the pillars of Christ, guess who the Chapiter is? Jesus Himself. Jesus is the head of His Church, each and every one of us are members of His body, He needs to be more than just our crown, He needs to be the very foundation we are to be standing on, [II Timothy 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.]

Today’s Prayer: God, I understand that the second I called on Your Son, Jesus Christ to save me that Your Spirit entered my body and now You indwell in me. LORD, since Christ is my foundation, and Chapiter, I want to be more than just Your temple, I want to be the pillar You need me to be that gives support to the lost, to those lost in their way, and to those who are new in the faith. Lord, Watch over me, guide me, teach me to love, obey, and trust in You at all times, fill me with Your mercy, grace, strength, patience, wisdom, and let me become a pillar to help build up Your kingdom until You bring me home. In ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
