Message: Precious Life

Hello My Friend,

The older I get the more I start to understand how precious life is, no matter what the circumstance or how a life comes to be, every single person conceived is precious, it is a gift from God, not a mistake, and not a defect. Every life could be used to bring God’s glory out of any situation, but sadly many lives are ended before they even begin. Until we learn that God created each and every one if us for a special reason, and see our own lives as precious, we are not going to see the need to introduce them to Jesus. “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” – Psalm 139:13-16.

God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, and that is exactly what they did, but only three of their children are mentioned by name. I found something interesting as I read this chapter, Cain went off after God judged him for killing his brother, and had nothing to do with God, neither any of his descendents, and of all the children that Adam had, it was Seth’s son Enoch (Enos) that people even began to communicate with God.

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.” – Genesis 4:3-5,8,16-17,25-26.

then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.” It was not until Enoch that any of Adam’s children had anything to do with God. Adam had Seth when he was a hundred and thirty years old, which means Adam really did not have much of a connection with God, and Seth was a hundred and five when he had Enoch. That is kind of sad, out of the thousands of children that were born over the centuries only one wanted God in their lives. Cain began the genealogy of what was known as the sons of man, Seth, known as the sons of God, which only happen because of Enoch. Chapter five lists the generations of Adam.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed. And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died. And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” – Genesis 5:1-5,21-22,28-32.

and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image;” This is an interesting fact because we are all created in the likeness and image of Adam, meaning we were also created with the same sinful nature and come short of being perfect and whole as when God first created Adam, whom He created in His image. Adam and all of us lost that perfection when he sinned, leaving us imperfect and separated from God. It was important that one of these sons of Adam be godly as he would keep the generations going until God was ready to send His only begotten Son to be able to make a soul perfect and whole permanently. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 5:12,19-21.

While all life is precious, God will not stand for sin. The more people that reject Him for sin, the more His wrath kindles, and before you know it, judgment comes, not only to one life, but all who do not listen to His warnings. When the sons of God began mixing with the sons of man and having children very few recognized God, in fact, they were down right rebellious. There was so much wickedness and immorality that God was deeply saddened for having made man. He was so disappointed and angry that He chose to destroy not only man, but the entire earth. However, something changed His mind from destroying all people, one man named Noah.

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” – Genesis 6:1-8.

and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. You have to get a picture of what God was seeing here, this was more than just some people fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, this was down right wicked and abominable behavior, violence, carelessness, by all of them, and no regard for life whatsoever. And if you think that today is pretty bad with all that we see now, just imagine what God was seeing that caused Him to destroy precious life all together. Oh, and this is only the beginning, God has warned us of how bad it is going to get before His Son returns and the entire earth will be destroyed completely. I for one am glad that I do not have to be here when all that takes place, but I would not even want generations after me to be in that mess. This is why we need to find God’s grace, stay in it, and teach our children to be in it because they just may be the generation that Jesus returns for His people. “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.” – Matthew 24:44-46.

Because God found grace in Noah He decided to save the human race with him and his family, God instructed Noah to build an ark, and over the process of time it was built. And just as God commanded they boarded the ark and something no one ever saw before, rain came falling from the sky.

And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.” – Genesis 7:1-5,23.

and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.” You would not be human if you did not feel sorrow over the thought of millions of lives being lost. You know the truth is, more of those lives could have been saved, but none of them believed that God, whom there were well aware of, was capable of doing such a thing. Can you imagine water so high that it covered the mountains? And scientist wonder how fossils that high up have been found in tact? God loves every single soul He creates, He would have saved any of them had they believed and gotten into that boat. I guarantee you that when the floods were coming the people were banging on the door trying to get in, but once the door was shut it was too late for them to be saved. The same is true today, only it’s not an ark we need to get on, it’s a Saviour, one Jesus Christ, and if we do not get aboard Him before we die it will be too late. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” – Genesis 6:14. The Ark represents Jesus, He is the only door to God and salvation.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for giving me life, and for the life that You have given me. While I do not always understand the trials and obstacles that You place before me as I walk the path You have chosen for me, I do understand that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that I am Your precious child. I do want to live my life to please You, I want to value my life by living it guiding by Your Word, and walking side by side with Your Son. Lord, give me Your power to love life, no matter where You place me, and give me the strength to sustain life by being a witness and testimony of how living a moral and just life leads to Your Son. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
