Message: One Way Ticket
Hello My Friend,
The more chaotic and crazy things get here on earth I guarantee you that there are many of us looking for that blessed day that Jesus returns and takes us away from all this. When you stop to think about it, salvation is like a one-way ticket bought for us on an airplane to paradise, paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. Once you get that ticket, there are no refunds, and you cannot turn back, you must take the flight all the way there, no matter how much turbulence you encounter along the way, but once you get there, true paradise. If you do not know Christ as your Saviour than you cannot get on that flight. The only way to have Christ in your life is to believe that He paid the ticket for you by His sinless death, burial, and resurrection, and asking Him to save you, then and only then will you get your ticket to paradise. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” – Romans 10:9,10.
One does not have to look too hard to notice that something is going on in the world, those who are content with all the corruption, immorality, and evil that is taking place are simply trying to compensate on it all. God’s warnings are everywhere, judgment is coming, not only to much of Israel who rejects Christ, but to all nations. Through Isaiah, God continues warning of the coming judgment, when Christ will return, and all nations will be judged, he gives special warning to Tyre, but also tells of its restoration.
“The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.” – Isaiah 23:1,15-18.
“for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD,” There is an interesting prophecy here, when Christ returns and instead of using their wealth and fame to further themselves, using it to please God, and because of that they are protected by Him. And God continues speaking of Christ coming to judge the earth, He gives us a glimpse of the devastation it will be under as He rids it of all its filth.
“Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done. They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.” – Isaiah 24:1,13-15,21-23.
“there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree,” Jesus is going to gather His people, so they will not be destroyed as the earth crumbles into nothing. All this is referring to the day Jesus returns, takes His seat on the throne as KING, and judges the earth while the devil is shut up in prison for a thousand years. “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,” – Revelation 20:1-2.
While the destruction of the world is inevitable, we must not let it consume us, one day, all of this will be over, we will not have to fear anything, and we will thank God for all that He has done, including the chastening that we got occasionally. We are never going to get along with those who live in the world, but we can learn to live peacefully during the chaos and help Jesus find a few more souls in the process, after all, that is why we are here. Okay, I have said it before and I will say it again, nothing we see today is new to God, and nothing we have learned through the New Testament is any different than the Old. Through Isaiah, God reveals more about Christ and how many will come to know them as their Saviour.
“O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” – Isaiah 25:1-4,7-9.
“He will swallow up death in victory;” Jesus swallowed up death when He died on the cross and arose three days later. We are already redeemed by the blood He shed when He died for our sins, that would have been enough, but God took it a step further by proving that even death cannot separate us from Him if we choose Him. And the veil that separated God from man was removed the second Christ died and His blood shed. “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” – Hebrews 10:19-20.
There is not one faithful child of God that does not look at what is happening in their nation and feel some sort of grief over its state. Through Isaiah, God encourages Judah and all His people to trust Him, reminding them that when all of this is over they will be in paradise.
“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD. LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them. LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us. Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.” – Isaiah 26:4,9-12,19.
“together with my dead body shall they arise.” This is the foretelling of the Christ and His resurrection, all who receive Him as their Saviour will arise, just like His dead body did. When we receive Christ as our Saviour we get more than a ticket to heaven, we receive eternal life as well. We are alive through Christ, we live because He lives. God does not want to see everything He created destroyed, including the people, but it will happen because, just like the devil, they will try Him, but they will fail.
“Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together. Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 27:4-6,9,12-13.
“Or let him take hold of my strength,” The final judgment is coming to every nation that is living and or causing His people to live in a sinful state. That pretty much means that every nation will be judged, and our only escape, get on that plane. We may face some severe turbulence, sometimes by shaking the plane ourselves, but in the end, we will arrive safely. “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” – Hebrews 12:11-13.
Jesus Christ Magnified: “Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.” – Isaiah 24:23.
