Message: No Other Name

Hello My Friend,

I will never forget the first time I saw a man bow his head and receive Christ while out soul winning after I had witnessed to him, I must have went out with my church for years before that happened, I was literally walking on clouds, so excited that I dropped everything that was in my hands. Now, I know that it was not by my power that this man got saved, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, but I have to tell you, if I did not have that personal relationship with Christ myself I would have been an effective witness. I have learned that it is not how many people I lead to Christ that counts, it is my faithfulness and willingness to speak the Gospel to all the Holy Spirit places on my heart that does. We must get out and speak the Gospel before it is too late, while we are still able to do so. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” – II Timothy 4:1-4.

There is no doubt that when we accept the Lord, Jesus Christ as our Saviour we are made whole, we are complete, having within our souls the very Spirit of God. When the rulers, the Pharisees, and Sadducees saw Jesus die on the cross they thought their work was done, that they had stopped the people from believing. So, when the blind beggar showed up with Peter and John in the temple, walking and seeing everything, it came as a huge shock to them. They demanded that Peter and John explain who healed him.

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” – Acts 4:7-13.

and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men,” The world wants to get us to believe that we are stupid and ignorant, that no person can trust in one man alone to save them from their sins. In fact, they want to deny sin all together claiming that it was in their nature to do what they do, and that alone justifies them because they do not know any better. What a bunch of garbage! We know when we do right or wrong. How many people do you think proudly call themselves cheaters, cons, liars, thieves, drug addicts, prostitutes, or whatever it is that they do in sin? Not too many, I will tell you that. We have a choice in the life we live, we are not so ignorant that we do not know right from wrong through our own conscious, some people just have no morals and choose to live in the lusts of their flesh, in which God gives them up in. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” – Romans 1:28-32.

Even though the council could not deny that this man was healed that did not stop them from trying to force the apostles and anyone else from preaching the Gospel. “And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.” – Acts 4:14-21.

But that it spread no further among the people,” Do not let the religious world fool you, they know that the miraculous things that happen come from God, but because they want power and control themselves they will hide it from those who are ignorant to this truth. Why? If they follow Jesus they will lose money, fame, and everything else that comes along with it. After they captured Peter and John, they set them before the council.

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” – Acts 5:27-32.

whom God hath given to them that obey him.” We are given the Spirit of God to us only by our faith in and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Saviour. The second we believe that Jesus Christ died to save us from our sins, and He alone saves us from hell, that is when we obey God and then He fills our soul with the Holy Spirit. “Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” – I John 4:13-16.

You see, when we have the Holy Spirit on our side there is nothing we cannot conquer, He gives us the boldness to speak, even when people do not agree or we are too timid to even speak one word. As the men continued to fuss and complain about them talking about Jesus, finally a Pharisee stood up and boldly spoke out. “Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” – Acts 5:34,38-42.

ye cannot overthrow it;” The devil can try all he wants to overthrow God’s will for our lives, but he cannot, and anyone who tries will have to answer to God. Let me tell you, Christian prosecution is on the rise, they are even measuring us up to the terrorists, people are losing their lives, literally executed for saying they choose Christ. We cannot live in fear of them, rather we can rejoice in the fact that Christ is on our side. Praise God! Remember what Jesus said, do not fear those who can kill the body or soul, rather the one who can destroy the body and soul. There is only one person who can kill and destroy the body and soul, and that is the devil, that is if gets to it before Jesus does. There is only one way that Jesus gets a soul, and that is by trusting Him as their Saviour before their physical death. “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 10:28-33.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12.

Today’s Prayer: God, Every bit of good that I am comes from You as the Holy Spirit enables me to make the right decisions. I know I can lose sight of the reason You have me here, but You are faithful and gracious to wait for me to come to my senses and just trust Your judgment. You really do have a reason for the things You do and allow to happen in my life and the main reason is that I go out and preach the Gospel, even when I am overwhelmed with life and just want to hide. Lord, help me to grow each day with You trusting in Your, mercy, grace, forgiveness, patience, and love. Help me embrace the power of the Holy Spirit in me so that I boldly speak about Christ, and what He has done on my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
