Message: Lying Words That Cannot Profit

Hello My Friend,

Many Christians today believe that since we are under New Testaments grace that the law of Moses no longer applies to us. There are some that even refuse to give tithe to the Church because they do not believe it applies to us today. Okay, so, we may be saved by grace through our faith and trust in Christ alone, and cannot lose our salvation, but God has not changed His stance on sin, the same things that were abominable to Him from Old Testament times are still abominable to Him today. Christ died to save us from our sin to repentance, not that we might continue in sin, but that we might be the new creatures He creates in us through His blood upon our soul. “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” – Romans 6:14-18.

ye became the servants of righteousness.” The second we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour He sets us free from sin. Amen! And while the entire law does not apply to us, for we are saved by grace. and no longer need continual blood sacrifices, we look to the Law for guidance and instruction in righteousness because we are new creatures. Or we ought to be looking to the Law for guidance and instruction, but the truth is, many churches not only welcome and invite sin, they have even created versions of the Bible that condone it. God despises those who change His Word, and has a thing or two to say to those who believe the lies over the truth. Through Jeremiah, God addresses those in Judah who are trusting in lying words, but this applies to all.

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.” – Jeremiah 7:8,17-23.

do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?God is not the author of confusion, He makes it simple, “Follow my commands, and live.” It is not the burnt offerings and sacrifices that He commands, it is to obey His voice, that all might be well with us. Those who try to hide the truth to avoid backlash or offense are only hurting themselves and those who believe the lies. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” – James 3:13-17.

This wisdom descendeth not from above,” People do not want to hear the truth, which is why they go through such great lengths to find something that is justifiable to them, while still maintaining that security from God. And the devil is all too willing to accommodate them. They want the tickling of their ears, their sins sugar coated for them, and peace that allows them to keep living in sin without the fear of the consequence. Let me tell you, the truth does hurt sometimes, especially if we are doing something we ought not be doing, this is actually the Holy Spirit trying to get our attention. God actually speaks to us many times before we really listen to Him, but there are some who are oblivious to that fact because they have been trusting the lies over the truth. As God continues explaining why He was judging Judah, He upbraids them for their vain wisdom.

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD. How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” – Jeremiah 8:7-12.

they have rejected the word of the LORD;Anytime a new version of the Bible is created, they are eliminating twenty percent of the last version that was written to avoid copyright laws. They will tell you that what they have done is revised God’s Word so that it is easier to understand, but the truth is, they have rejected the Word of God. There are way too many false prophets out there standing to make a financial profit off the lies they are teaching, but ignorance to the truth, and trusting the lies over the truth will not save anyone, they are words of no profit. “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” – Romans 10:2-3.

and going about to establish their own righteousness,Remember, God’s ways are not our own, and His thoughts are not as our own, we cannot pick and choose what we want to believe from His Word and obey that, we must believe and obey all of it. The people during Jeremiah’s day may not have known Jesus Christ personally, but they did know God, and right well knew He was the only way to salvation. The things Jesus spoke were the exact same things God spoke through all the prophets. God warns us over and over again not to trust in our own understanding, but His.

Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through? And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” – Jeremiah 9:12-15,23-24.

and give them water of gall to drink.” When Jesus was on the cross, before His last breath He was given water of gall to drink. Jesus became sin, who knew no sin, so that we might be saved from our own sin. As much as we like to think that our own righteousness or wisdom is an option, it is not, there is only one way, one truth, and one life to salvation, and that is Jesus Christ. You know, we are saved by grace alone, we need to use this amazing gift to glorify Him and not our own flesh. We must also learn to discern truth from lies. For the life of me I will never get where some people make up their own conclusions and drag thousands of people into it, but that is why we face judgment today. “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” – II Corinthians 5:14-15,18,21.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” – Jeremiah 9:24.

Today’s Prayer: God, You make it simple to understand You, and Your ways, we do not need thousands of books written by man, we just need Your Word and the Holy Spirit, He will direct us to the truth, will even guide us to dictionaries and other men and women who know it. Lord, keep me in Your Word so I can discern Your truths from the lies, and not only that, live through it so I can be a witness and testimony that brings the lost to Your Son, who is the only way, truth, and life. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
