Message: Living By Every Word

Hello My Friend,

When God decided to tell His story to the world He did not give one message to those who were here before He sent His Son here to suffer and die on the cross and one to those after his passion, He gave one message to all of us, “Love me, obey me, and I will bless you”. Trends and values might change, but God never changes, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.” – Hebrews 13:8-9.

As we mature in life we all look on our lives and have some low thoughts of ourselves, things we could have done better, things we should not have done. Agur, the son of Jakeh, is an unknown wise Hebrew writer who collected the sayings of wisdom recorded in Proverbs 30. Agur speaks of himself as wanting to live righteously, but having done very foolishly, he has an epiphany, he needs the word of God to guide him in the ways of truth.

Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.– Proverbs 30:2-6.

Every word of God is pure:I got my first Bible when I was thirteen, but did not grow up reading it. I would pick it up, read a few chapters, then put it back in my night stand or wherever I left it until I got the urge again. Then I read the stories of the Bible, went to vacation Bible school, even went to church hoping I would get something out of it to no avail. Now that I do read my Bible, I have learned that people follow the Word of God in one of three ways, they read it and accept it as it is written, read it and alter it to fit their needs, or do not read it at all and go by what others tell them. I was the one who did not read it, but when by what others told me for the longest time, and oh, my goodness, was I deceived. There is a reason why it is so easy to accept what the world says is true about God rather than the truth itself, we do not want to admit that we sin.

There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.” – Proverbs 30:11-16.

crying, Give, give.A horseleech is a large leech that infests the mouth and nasal passages of horses, the leeches attach themselves to skin and suck the blood out of whatever it is that it attaches itself to, so, they literally suck the life out of them. The horseleech to a person is the world, its daughters are lust and envy, they are always crying give me more, they suck the life out of the person they are attached to, giving themselves up to every wicked and immoral thing imagined, yet are never satisfied. This is why Christians cannot live in the world, it is too easy to get sucked into the fire. “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” – James 4:4,17.

Virtuous; Morally good; acting in conformity to the moral law. Often throughout the Bible you read about men being blessed by conforming themselves to the Word of God, but once in a while something pops up to remind women that they to need to live by every word too, perhaps even more than men. Do not underestimate what God can do with a woman who lives by His Word, while men have a problem doing more than one thing at a time, women on the other hand are multitaskers, and God makes sure to give us the strength to do them.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.” – Proverbs 31:10-17.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.” In this world of wickedness, and a shortage of men who are afraid, corrupt, or too lazy to stand up and do what is right, it is imperative that Christian women step up and be the Godly influence God needs us to be. A woman has a great deal of influence on a man, one who is wicked and controls a man destroys the man, and their children as well, but a virtuous woman, is in command of her own spirit, a help meet to her husband, a good teacher to children, and stands by the principles of God’s Word. A virtuous woman is honored by God and is prosperous in all that she does.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.– Proverbs 31:25-31.

and let her own works praise her in the gates.” We all mess up sometimes, after all, we are not perfect, but those who fear God and live by His Word are greatly blessed and their hard work will get noticed, even if if is only God who notices. God has given us the life He has given us because He knows we can handle it, as we find our strength through Him. While living by every word of God is not what saves us, it is what helps us out of struggles and keeps us guarded against all evil. “As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:36-39.

Jesus Christ Magnified: Today, Jesus is revealed through the Word (Pro 30:5). Jesus is the Word and shield to everyone who comes to Him. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14.

Today’s Prayer: God, I believe that everything in Your Word is true and that I will receive all the promises You made as I learn and grow in it. Lord, give me Your power, wisdom, and guidance, make me a hearer and a doer of Your Word. Let me not be tempted by others who are not living by every word and use me to be an example to others. Give me Your mercy, grace, and strength to keep going and give me patience to wait for Your timing in seeing everything come to pass. Let me not lose sight of the light that I see ahead, even if the things I am waiting for are not in Your will for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
