Message: Let It Go

Hello My Friend,

Jesus said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8. Think about it. We all have needs and wants, and pretty much ask for them daily, but rarely do they line up with God’s needs and wants for us. So, what happens when His needs and wants supersede our own, and He flat out says, “No!”? Do we forsake God? Do we rebel, and pursue it anyway? Or do we say, “Thy will be done.”, and move on to better things? More often that you think, Christians, well, they really are not Christians because they are tempting Him by using this verse to determine their faith in Him, and many walk away from God because He would not grant a request. Well, how about we do this, rather than dwell on what He will not give, we ought to be thanking Him daily for what He has given, and let go of the things He will not give. “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” – Hebrews 11:13.

and were persuaded of them,” You know, God does answer all prayers, it just may not be in the way we expect, for example someone may ask for a million dollars, He may not give it to them all at once, but He will receive that much in their lifetime. Many faithful Christians have lived amazing and blessed lives, having not received the promises in front of them, but they never gave up hope or faith in seeing them, and for that reason they received so much more than what they never got to see. Now, Moses is as the end of his journey, he led Israel to as far as God would allow him to go, he continues to speak of their journey to the promised land, reminding them of how they arrived where they were at present.

Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon. So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites. And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.” – Deuteronomy 3:1-3,12-13.

Fear him not: for I will deliver him,” We must never forget the things that God has brought us through, and the victories, especially when we are not given some of the things we desire. Moses, because of his unbelief, sinned in his anger and forfeited his desire to go into the promised land, God refused to let him go, he asked Him several times to let him go, but God would not grant his request, even told him to stop asking Him.

And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you. And I besought the LORD at that time, saying, O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might? I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.” – Deuteronomy 3:21-26.

speak no more unto me of this matter.” You know, there are times when we ask for things, that we do need to keep asking for them because everything is in His timing. Let me tell you, there are many things we ask for that He flat out tells us, “Enough! Quit asking me that!” and the thing is, we already know the answer, we are just hoping for it to be in our favor. Moses, could not let it go, in fact, he mentions it again, stating that they were the ones who caused him to be angry and sin. We need to learn to let go of the things that He says no to, there are many, many things awaiting us if we just let it go. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” – I John 5:14-15.

And if we know that he hear us,” It is only when asking what is in our will for Him that He will hear us on that matter. God always hears for us, and listens, we just have to be willing to listen to Him as well. Now, Moses gives them a review of the commands that God had given, which were to be passed down from generation to generation. Moses assures them that if they follow His commands they will have nothing to worry about.

Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons; Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.” – Deuteronomy 4:1-2,7-10.

For what nation is there so great,” God does not reveal Himself to everyone, which is why this entire world has very few believers in it. Think about the world as we know it, and only one group knows and follows God? If there is only one thing that the Jews, Christians, and Muslims agree on it is that there is only one living God, where they differ is how to get to Him. And there is only one way to God, Jesus Christ, and if we look to Him we live, but if we try to get to God any other way we will die. Before Moses completed his speech he reminded them that they are set apart from everyone else on this earth.

Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven. But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.” – Deuteronomy 4:15-20.

But the LORD hath taken you,” Think about this? God knows all about those who worship and follow false gods and idols, in fact, every country has their own god they follow. And yet, He chose you, he took you out of the iron furnace, meaning out of the world to be His. Never forget that while God may not grant us certain things, we never lose our access to the Kingdom of God, which is the true promised land. And by the way, the fire God puts us through will not kill us, it will only make us stronger in Christ. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.” – I Peter 4:12-14.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.” – Deuteronomy 4:4.

Today’s Prayer: God, You promise that if we ask anything believing that we will receive it, but that it also might be in Your will to give it to us. While it is Your desire to give us the things we ask, sometimes You will not, and that is when we must let it go, and seek the things You will grant us. Lord, give me Your power to avoid the traps that take me away from Your truths, and living in Your Word. It is only by reading Your Word and applying its truth to my life that I even have a chance to fight the battles around me. Help me to be the Godly example that You want me to be for all who cross my path, and let me not get bitter or angry when You deny me, but let me learn to glorify You in all things. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
