Message: Healing Through God’s Grace

Hello My Friend,

Years ago, I had gotten a staff infection, I cut the tip of my finger on a wire sign, for five days I treated it as I do any cut, only I used a liquid bandage instead of a normal one to cover it up. Instead of getting better it got worse, just touching my finger brought excruciating pain, not to mention my entire body felt as though I got hit by a truck. I went to the emergency room because the pain was so unbearable, if I had waited any longer I could have lost my finger, or even worse, died. Of course, they gave me antibiotics, which I had to take for exactly ten days. Still today, I have no feeling in the tip of my finger, and this is a reminder that God’s grace abounds. All of these years leading up to my salvation, and in dedicating my life to Christ, God’s grace has saved me in more ways than one. Praise God! “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” – I Corinthians 15:10.

but the grace of God which was with me.” It is only by the grace of God that we are who we are as Christians. Remember, we are the clay, and He is the potter, He will do what He will with us, even if He has used some of us for evil. And there are two kinds of evil, the wicked evils that the devil uses, like murder, and natural evils the ones that God uses, like sickness and disease. No matter what evils we face, God’s grace can, and will help us endure it if we turn to Him, and follow His law. Yesterday, we read about the law God gave concerning cleanliness, today, God explains how they were to be cleansed after being defile, beginning with the leper.

This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper; Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.” – Leviticus 14:2-7.

and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.” The living bird, having the blood sprinkled on him is a great illustration of how Jesus sets us free from sin when we apply His blood upon our soul. In fact, both birds are an illustration of His death, burial, and resurrection. The cedar wood represents the freedom given to us by Jesus as He cleanses us of our sin. The scarlet represents the persons stained blood, and also the blood of Christ that removed those stains. And hyssop represents the sweet odor given off to God as we present our offering to God. Jesus is the only one who can cleanse is from all sin. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” – I John 1:7.

and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” We can wash ourselves with water, but unless we have the blood of Christ upon our soul we are not clean. After the lepers were cleansed of their flesh, they had to make an atonement for their souls, which took two lambs or if they were poor, two turtledoves or pigeons, and some oil.

And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy: And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand: And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD: And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering: And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD.” – Leviticus 14:12-18.

And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed:Do you see what happened here? First, a lamb was the sacrifice, the blood of the lamb was placed on the tip of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot, to be cleansed. Then after the blood they were anointed with the oil, first, it was sprinkled on them, then on the parts that had the blood applied, and finally poured on their head. And this was not only for the leper, but all who became unclean, whether it was disease or body fluids that defiled them. Jesus is the lamb, who not only cleanses our soul with His blood, He anoints our body with His Spirit as well, that means we are pure and holy to stand before Him. Salvation always requires a blood sacrifice, and today, there is only one blood sacrifice that God accepts, and that is His Son. “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” – I John 5:6,10.

Now, after their flesh was cleansed, and their body cleansed, it was important if they wanted to remain undefiled to clean their homes as well. Now, this was pertaining to when they got to Canaan, but it could still be applied to their tent in the camp.

When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession; And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house: Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house: Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even. And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes. And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.” – Leviticus 14:34-36,46-48.

Then the priest shall command that they empty the house,Remember, salvation does not keep us from being tempted, but it does give us the power to walk away from sin, that includes people and things within our own homes that defile us. Jesus said, “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” – Matthew 18:8. It is better for us to go through the rest of our lives without someone or thing than to suffer the consequence of be contaminated by someone else who is living in sin and refusing to repent of it. Again, these same rules applied no matter what issue they had regarding defiling their bodies, they even had to be cleansed or anyone who touched them, from their own body fluids.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.” – Leviticus 15:1-3,10,19-21,31.

that they die not in their uncleanness,People really have no clue how important it is to be clean, filth from our bodies is what causes infectious and deadly disease to spread like wildfire, which is why God saw it necessary to instruct them, and us too about personal hygiene. We cannot blame God for some disease we caught that could have been prevented had we taken care of ourselves better or stayed away from someone who what infected. And yes, I understand, we can get infected because we have to be out in the world and contract things from people, but that is not God’s fault either. I ate some meat last September, and got sick from it, it took several months to really recover from that. Trust me, whenever I do get sick it is because I have been stressing myself out too much, and not giving my body the proper care it needs, which weakened my immune system. And this is why we need a strong immune system, in our mind, body, and spirit. And this is what grace is for, Jesus is our the immune system for our mind, body, spirit, and soul, He is the only one who can heal us entirely, and where our weakness abides, His grace abounds.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” – II Corinthians 12:8-10. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering: And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD.” – Leviticus 14:17-18.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for being who You are, for giving us an easier way to be cleansed, and receive an atonement for the things we do that defile our bodies. Salvation always comes with a price, and Your Son paid the price for me with His blood, and no matter what I do You will always be with me. That does not mean You condone sin in our lives, even if we are just around someone else who lives in sin, but it does mean that You promise us eternal life, and protection while we are here. Lord, give us Your power to remove the things in our lives that make us unclean, give us wisdom and guidance in how to handle situations that expose us things that defile us, help us to and give us Your grace that Your strength made be made perfect in our weakness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
