Message: God’s Unconditional Love

Hello My Friend,

Like any relationship, a relationship with God grows and flourishes as we get to know Him. The closer we get to know Him the more we come to understand just how much He does love us, even when we are not the best at returning that love. Like all things, God has a purpose for allowing everything we go through, we may not always understand His purpose, we may not always enjoy His purpose, but with every pain, with every sorrow, and with every trial comes out an everlasting relationship with God that brings joy through them all when we trust Him to help us get through them. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.” – Psalm 57:1-3.

until these calamities be overpast.” The strange thing about the trials we face is that it reminds us of what God has already brought us through. Every time I find myself asking God why something has to be the way it is, He reminds me of what He has already helped me through by trusting Him. As David faces one trial after another, he could not help, but reflect on the time that God delivered him from the hand of Saul, fully trusting that He will do the same in his present situation. He recites the song he wrote in remembrance of that time.

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.” – II Samuel 22:1-7.

and my cry did enter into his ears.Distress is something we do not handle well on our own, oh, we endure better than we think we do, but it wears us down to the point that are weak spiritually and mentally as well as physically. As we get closer to God in our relationship with Him, we discover that when we cry out to Him in our distress He does something amazing, He calms us, gives us peace and hope, reminds us of all He has brought us through, and literally delivers us out of our distress. Sometimes we bring more distress upon us because we try to do it all on our own, but God even helps us with that, He is our refuge, He is our salvation, our rock, our deliverer, not because we we deserve it, but because He loves us. And let me tell you, the more you develop your relationship with God the more you realize how merciful He is. And you will want to please Him by doing the things He enjoys seeing you do, like being faithful to Him, learning of His ways and doing them, and removing the things that bring added distress. David recalls how God delivered him out of his distress.

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.” – II Samuel 22:20-27.

and have not wickedly departed from my God.David, like all of us, had his share of mishaps as he allowed his flesh to take over, but he never walked away from God. Of course, when we get caught in sin we want to scour and hide from God because we know it is Him that we sinned against, and are ashamed of what we have done, but we do not walk away from Him, in anything, we fully accept any judgment that He places on us and count it as His loving us. “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” – Hebrews 12:11.

Over the past few years my relationship with God has grown in that I am learning of His unconditional love for me. I can relate to this because of the relationship He has brought me into, the relationship is often one sided, I show him love, yet rarely get it in return, whenever he needs me I am always there for him, yet he rarely follows through for me, I look out for his well being, yet he rarely thinks about mine. Why do I bother? God. While this may not be how I want our relationship to be right now, God is teaching me a lot of things through this. Our relationship is teaching me about Christ’s unconditional love for me. My love for him is unconditional, even when he ignores me, and even when he lets me down I am there for him because he needs to see that I am always there for him, and this is how Christ is with us. Let me tell you, our relationship with God often brings challenges such as these, but they are challenges that will teach us to be more like His Son.

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me. Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.” – II Samuel 22:32-37,44-47.

and he maketh my way perfect.” Yes, God has a reason for everything, even the challenges we face as we develop our relationship with Him. Through the challenges He perfects us and all He wants in return is unconditional love. You see, while my relationship with this guy is growing rather slowly when we do get together it will last for the rest of our lives, I know this because God has brought us together, and whoever He brings together no one or thing can tear it apart, believe me I tried to walk away. “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” – Hebrews 13:20-21.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.” – II Samuel 22:14.

Today’s Prayer: God, Every day I am amazed that no matter how many mistakes I make, You love for me is unconditional, You have not forsaken me, and I still have a place with You for eternity. Lord, let me never lose hope of the day that Your Son comes and gets me, not for the good that I have done, but because I am bought by His precious blood. Thank You God, for everything You do for me, whether times are good or bad, happy or sad, You are always there guiding me in the right direction, and while I will never be perfect I can be perfected as I walk with Your Son. Lord, as our relationship grows, lead me and guide me in the ways of Your Son, teach me to love like He loves, to worship You like He worships You, to obey like He obeys, You are my LORD, my Rock, my salvation, I live because You live. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
