Message: Get Ready To Shout

Hello My Friend,

You know, the Bible says, without vision the people perish so we see a vision, it is right there in front of us, but we cannot grab it just yet, we must wait it out until God says we can have it. Probably one of the hardest things to do as a Christian is wait for God to give us the go that we can do or have something. But what exactly is the reason behind all the waiting? We can speculate, but I suspect the reason is that God is preparing us for it and once we are ready He wants us to shout it from the rooftops that we can go get it. The strangest thing about that is, sometimes how He prepares us is a mystery. However, once we are ready, and God gives the go we can shout and get it. “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” – Psalm 47:1.

Now, with every vision comes battles that we must endure to get them. Sometimes I which things came a little easier, but then we would not be have much faith in God would we? Israel had finally crossed over the Jordan and now it was time to take out the first city and get possession of the land God promised them. God had a plan for them to get in, and everyone was going to know just how powerful He is, but it was probably the strangest plan anyone had ever heard of. And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel. And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.” – Joshua 5:1,13-15.

but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come.” Jesus always leads us through the battles we face as long as we trust Him. Jericho was like a fortress, no one was allowed to come in or leave. They were instructed to walk around the wall once a day for six days in silence then on the seventh day seven times, and the army did just as they were told. Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.” – Joshua 6:1-5.

See, I have given into thine hand Jericho,” You see, sometimes it is not the right time for us to go into battle, we must wait it out and wait for when God gives the okay to fight. Sometimes the way we fight is also a mystery. Why did God want these men walk around the wall of the city once a day for six days? Why did He want them walk around it seven times the seventh day? They probably did not know why either, but they did exactly what God said and on the seventh day at the end of the seventh trip they were told to shout.

And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets. And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout. So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.” – Joshua 6:8-11,15-16.

only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house,” I imagine what was going on when these men were walking around the wall silently once a day it was making the people of Jericho a little scared, but it also allowed them to prepare for something to happen at any time. That allowed the believers to get in that safety zone with Rehab before they were about to strike. Even though we are in the midst of a battle, God protects us through it, and actually saves us from getting killed. Think about it, we are saved by grace through our faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, it does not matter what our past was like, once we accept Him as our Saviour we will be saved from the destruction of the world, even when we die and leave our earthly bodies. Keep in mind that when we are saved we must remove any sin from our lives if we want to see God’s help for the next battle. Yes, He will save us from hell by grace, but He will not help us with our battles as long as we allow sin to remain in our lives, even if we have no idea we are in the midst of it. We see this first hand as Joshua sent a small army into Ai to take it, only to find out that God was not with them because someone stole some things and brought them into the camp, resulting in the lost of thirty-six lives.

But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai. And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few. So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai. And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water. And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.” – Joshua 7:1-6,10-11.

Get thee up;God has to yell at us sometimes and tell us to get up as we get do dramatic over the judgment happening among His people. Get rid of the sin! Get rid of the ones who brought the sin into the camp! What good does it do serving God if we allow the sin to remain in our homes? Nothing. God will not help us out of our battle until we get rid of the sin or remove the ones that are hindering Him from helping us win the battle. They found the man and the stolen things, removed them all out of the camp and then God was ready to help them.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land: And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it. So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city. And so it was, that all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai. For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai. Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took for a prey unto themselves, according unto the word of the LORD which he commanded Joshua.” – Joshua 8:1-3,18,25-27.

see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai,” It was time, they got rid of the people and things that brought the curse upon them, they were sanctified, and now God had given them the power to defeat Ai. The most amazing thing about God is that while we may mess up He is right there to help us once we get rid of that sin. Sometimes we are unaware that someone among us is causing us to face battles alone because they are hiding sin, God knows who they are and it up to us to figure out who the culprit. People who secretly live in sin have the idea that they will never get caught, but they will and the whole world will know. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.” – Psalm 64:5-8.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.” – Joshua 5:15.

Today’s Prayer: God, I will admit that there are some things that I just do not understand, but I am trusting You to reveal them to me when You see fit as I draw me closer to You. Lord, my heart feels cracked, my soul feels crushed, and my body feels out of sorts, comfort me, give me peace, mend the wounds, and awaken my spirit. Help me to overcome the battle before me as I draw nigh to You, and give me Your wisdom, strength, and boldness to walk away from anyone or thing that is hindering me, prepare me, and let me be ready to shout for the victory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
