Message: Finding Joy Through Fiery Trials

Hello My Friend,

Trials, saved or not, we all face them, and sometimes it seems as Christians that we face them just for our faith, but as we draw closer to Christ through our trials, we not only get a better insight spiritually, we find comfort in His response, even if we do not understand His reasoning. You see, God never leaves or ignores those who seek Him. Of course, we are going to wonder where He is at times, and yes, we are even going to complain to Him when we see others living wickedly having the time of their lives when we not dare do the things they do. Never let a trial in this life define or defeat you, trust God there really is no better option. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” – I Peter 4:12-13.

Faith, we all know it to be talking yourself into believing that something is true, but faith is much more than that, it is the foundation upon which we all must stand before God, without faith, God will not accept us. It is our faith in Him that gets us through the trials of life, even when we cannot see Him. David had his share of ups and downs before and after he was king, and while he knew that God was always with him, he still wondered.

To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David. O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake. Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.” – Psalm 6:1-4,8-10.

My soul is also sore vexed:Fiery trials can overwhelm us, it is what brings us, anger, depression, anxiety, these are all emotions that come naturally as a result, and it can feel like God has disappeared somewhere. When God seems like He is no where to be found that is when He is actually closer than ever, working on us, teaching us, growing us, and listening to every word we say to Him. I heard someone say that if you are not struggling in life as a Christian that you must be doing something wrong, but I do not believe that, we may have to deal with some trials in this life, but they will not last forever, God has an expected end, one of peace. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Let me tell you, the closer you get to Christ the more you discover just how much of a sinner you are, and how merciful He is. David knew, he often wondered himself why God was so merciful to him, and if you read through his Psalms you will often references to Christ in them. What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” – Psalm 8:4-9.

Why does God seem to stand afar through our trials? To make us humble. To bring us to the knowledge that we are, in fact, imperfect and need Him. David questions why the wicked get away with things while he was getting persecuted for doing no wrong, he realizes that it is that keeps man from humbling themselves before Him.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.” – Psalm 10:4-7,11-13,16-18.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance,” Pride is the biggest contributor that refuses to admit they need God, that does not even think about Him let alone admit they need Him. Pride says, “I do not care what God thinks, He doesn’t exist to me.” Pride says, I am god, I do what I want to do.” Pride says, “I do no wrong.” But it is pride that sends people straight to hell because they refuse to admit they need God. Fool; One who is destitute of reason, or the common powers of understanding; an idiot. Okay, so, the word idiot is not the nicest word, but it is better than some to describe those who are consumed with pride and without reason.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.” – Psalm 14:1-4.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men,” You do not have to read the New Testament long to discover that the people of the Old Testament knew the exact same things that we do. Sin defiles us and makes us filthy, those who call upon the LORD humble themselves to admit they have sinned, and when they do are saved. But the fool, the one who refuses to even acknowledge God exists, condemns themselves because of their unbelief. “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” – John 3:18.

The world likes to believe that they can live anyway the want, and still have a relationship with God, but let me tell you salvation may be only by the grace of God, through our faith in Christ, but that will not stop God from placing judgment upon the saved if they are living sinful lives. Judgment always starts at the house of God first because we belong to Him, and He will not have His people behaving like heathens, if they do, they will be punished just like any parent who punishes their own children for disobeying their rules. God knows who are His, rich or poor, king or beggar, all who call upon the LORD believing in Him will be saved.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever. His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.– Psalm 21:1-7.

He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him,” Praise God!

Jesus Christ Magnified: “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” – Psalm 8:5.

Today’s Prayer: God, I will not pretend to understand all of Your ways, because You will deal with all sin Your way. While judgment comes to Your house first, You will never leave nor forsake one soul that knows Your Son as their Saviour, in fact, You will never see their sin because You no longer see them through their flesh, but the blood of Your Son. I believed in and received Your Son by faith, that means I can get through every trial by faith. Lord, lead me and guide me, show me the path of life, prepare me, grow me, strengthen me, shower with Your grace, mercy, patience, love, longsuffering, wisdom, for in Your presence is the fullness of joy, even through my trials, and the hope of an expected end. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
