Message: Except The Lord Build The House

Hello My Friend,

Worth

Degrees, Step by step; gradually; little by little; by moderate advances. A walk with Christ is not a speedy process, it is one that happens gradually, step by step. The first thing we must do is accept Him as our Saviour, meaning, put our complete faith and trust in His finished work on the cross as our only means for salvation. He is the foundation upon which we stand that all things prosper. Without Christ, everything we do is vain. Why? Cause the things in this world are only temporary, but Christ is eternal.

A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.” – Psalm 127:1,2.

Except the LORD build the house,” There is one thing we must understand as Christians, if we build something and it is not in the will of God our labor is worthless. We lose valuable time, sleep, and life trying to do things God does not want us to do in an attempt to get things we need or want. Lacking funds? Pray, trust God, and He will send you the funds you need. Need a job? Pray, trust God, and He will direct you to the place of employment. Want a spouse? Pray, trust God, and He will send you the love of your life. It is when we stop asking and trusting God for the things we need, that our labor becomes vain. God knows what we need, He takes things very seriously with us, He knows the work we do, our motives in doing them, and what would happen if we took things in our own hands, He is our help. “A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” – Psalm 121:1-4.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:” You see that? Our feet are to never be moved, meaning He will never leave us nor forsake us, no matter how many stupid things we do. I am not one to questions someones salvation, but when people go from loving Jesus to literally denying and hating Him I do because while we are certainly able to backslide He never lets us fall. I know that for a fact because He has taken me to the edge, even let me dangle, but has never let me fall. Our foundation is Jesus Christ, everything we do must be built off Him or else it will not be stable and will fall, but we will never fall, He will never let go of those who genuinely received Him as their Saviour.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” – John 10:27-30.

Here is another Psalm to remind us that God never leaves those who have trusted in Him, they may get into trouble, but cannot be removed because they planted in Him.

A Song of degrees. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.” – Psalm 125.

lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.” God gives us a choice in the way we live, many, many of His children have backslidden, gotten caught up in their sin, they are not denying God, they just turned their backs on Him. This is why we are not saved by our works, but Christ’s finished work. We mess up, we can get caught up in sin, like I said, He will take you to the edge, even let you dangle, but He never lets you fall completely. That is why we are saved by grace alone, He is faithful, merciful, and forgiving. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – I John 1:9.

This is why we grow with Christ in steps, if we stumble we may get banged, but it is not life threatening. Without building things upon Christ they just exist, you might enjoy them for a season, but they will not last. Our only hope in building something great out of this life we are given comes through Jesus Christ who gives us life through His death, burial, and resurrection. If you have been taught anything else you have been lied to and need to learn the truth before it is too late. Psalm 126 reminds us that we are going to have tears, but then comes joy.

A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” – Psalm 126.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” We are going to have seasons of great things and we are going to have a seasons of no things, we must make everything count for the glory of God. If you are not saved, let Jesus become your personal Saviour. If you have backslidden, get into a King James Bible believing church, read His Word, and start walking and building your relationship with Christ. For the rest of us, keep walking and building everything you do upon Him, the more we do the more joy we will find through the tears.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” – I Corinthians 3:9-11,15.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.” – Psalm 121:7. Jesus preserves every soul that believes in and trusts Him alone for their salvation. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;” – Titus 3:5,6.

Today’s Prayer: God, Thank You for sending Your Son to make it easier to have a relationship with You. While I do not always understand the things I go through, I know that with patience and faith You will give me the victory. Lord, lead me and guide me, let me learn to completely trust in You, the only living God, in all that I build let me build it upon You, so that if it does get burned I am save in Your arms. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
