Message: Do This In Remembrance Of Me

Hello My Friend,

This past Sunday we observed Communion at church, in all the years that I have been a part of this, and in all the churches, this was the first time I had heard it explained in such great detail. Most of the time I Corinthians 11:24-25 is read, but rarely are the verses that come after. It just like everyone loves to quote John 3:16, but they fail to add John 3:17-19, which tells about the condemnation that comes to those who do not believe. So many people proclaim Christ, but rarely do they accept Him because to accept Christ brings self examination. “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” – I Corinthians 11:26-29.

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily,” I was severely aggravated because someone tried to tell me that unrepentant sin causes one to lose their salvation, and quoted verses to explain their reason behind their belief. I actually told them not to throw Scripture at me as though they know more than I do, they never responded, but people did to his comment. Let me tell you, those who have truly accepted Christ as their Saviour, are saved by grace through their faith alone, and we cannot lose our salvation should we live a sinful life. However, if we ever asked Him in vain, added to the Gospel in any way, or never confessed that we are a sinner and only He can save us then we were never saved to begin with. And those who are saved and live in sin, their lives will be much harder, and they will be much worse than they were because you cannot receive Christ unworthily. Israel had no idea who Jesus was, but they knew the importance of being holy, and eating the holy sacrifices. The holy things, were only to be used and consumed by the Levites, those who were set apart for God’s service.

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD. Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD. There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat. If the priest’s daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.” – Leviticus 22:2-3,10-13.

but there shall no stranger eat thereof. This goes back to this, “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself,” and the verses that the guy was quoting me, “For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” – II Peter 2:21-22. Actually it was only verse 22, he omitted 21 to try and prove his point. The reason I am bringing all this up is because we need to know the truth. If anyone has trusted in any other Gospel to save them then they are not saved, and if people are misinformed they need to understand also. I know some people are stubborn and think they know more, but as long as we have the truth in us that is all that matters. People died daily, knowing the name if Christ, but never knowing Him personally. Many even believe that He exists, but only see Him as some ordinary man who got martyred for his faith. Jew or Gentile, God explains that our offering must be pure.

Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering; Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land. Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.” – Leviticus 22:18-20,24-25.

Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish,No one can help us on this, we must come to Jesus willingly, and we must accept His offering, without Jesus God will not accept us because our bodies are blemished with sin. God wants us to keep reminding ourselves of what Jesus has done for us, which is why we have Holy Days (holidays) in remembrance of Him. We know that God instituted the Passover every year, and the Day of Atonement, but there were several others, including the Sabbath, which was not always a Saturday.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.” – Leviticus 23:2-4,23-25.

an holy convocation;Convocation; The act of calling or assembling by summons. We are called by God to take some time each day, week, month, and many days in between to give thanks to God. And what better way the with food and drink that God has provided us with. These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.” – Leviticus 23:37-38.

Beside the sabbaths of the LORD,” Jesus is the most holy thing we will ever feast upon, He purchased our soul with His own blood, our souls are sanctified only because we are washed in His blood, once we receive Him as our Saviour we need to live in a way that does not defile us, and if we do we need to repent. Holiday’s dedicated to Christ are reminders as is the Passover, and all the other Jewish feasts that still go on today, they are all to be observed in remembrance of what Jesus has done for us. And let me tell you, the more we remind ourselves of that the less we will find ourselves falling into sin. “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” – Romans 5:10,11.

Jesus Christ Magnified: “These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:” – Leviticus 22:37.

Today’s Prayer: God, How awesome is it to be one of Yours and that You are our God. You have called on all Your children to be holy and show the world Your Son, as He is the only way to You. Lord, Give us Your power to stand by our faith and not be ashamed to show that we love Jesus. Let us not take for granted the freedoms that You have given all of us, even those who do not believe in You, and let us not forget to take time to remember everything that You have blessed us with. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
